with enunwa hurt and out a few more weeks and pryor cut and likely not going to be healthy this season for return we have 1 more game before the bye week and the trade deadline 8 days away, it may be a good time to get darnold some help that can contribute this week against the bears and then have a bye week to be up to speed so here are some options Auden tate - 7th round rookie who the bengals waived to fill a roster spot of need who are stacked at WR, they will resign him to the PS but may be worth the jets grabbing him instead. a big target for the red zone with good hands DeVante parker - disgruntled with the fins, although a trade within the division is rare he was inactive this week. the former 1st round pick hasn't lived up to his billing but is more then capable compared to what we have now and is only 25. he had 1900 yards his 1st 3 seasons and is a big body 6'3" WR with 4.45 speed Demaryius Thomas - and older guy at 30 years old and not the WR he once was, but is still a big fast WR with good hands and 9k+ yards for his career. had 5 straight 1k yard seasons until last year where he had 949. Denver is looking to move him with the emergence of rookie sutton and they like sanders better then thomas. Dez bryant - desperate times and all. he probably wouldn't want to come here nor would the jets want him and he hasn't played football all year long so who knows if he could come in and play, but he's healthy and was once a really good player which is more then we can say for our options now Adam Humpries - this is a long shot as there are no rumors he's even up for trade, however TB has him burried to 4th on the depth chart behind evans, jackson, and 2nd year WR godwin. not to mention they have brate and OJ howard at TE. they are pretty stacked for targets to throw to resulting in humpries being barely used. He's never really been a starter but does have back to back 600+ yard seasons in 2016 and 2017 and is only 25 years old.
Demarrius thomas is being shopped by denver https://football.realgm.com/wiretap/41331/Broncos-Listening-To-Trade-Offers-For-Demaryius-Thomas id fix the oline before worrying about WR though
There is no “getting up to speed “ during the bye week seeing as there is no practice during that time. Thank the players union for that Out of that I would take a look at Tate.
yes he's mentioned for that reason but mac makes the decisions on the roster and that game showed darnold needs some help in the way of people who can catch a ball they can still study the playbook. they just can't practice fuck i thought the bye week was sooner lol. we can't go into the bears and fins games with just kearse and anderson and 3 scrub WRs. unless enunwa comes back this week or herndon steps up big time were pretty fucked. bates is going to need to be really creative to pull this off with only 2 trusted WRs on the active gameday roster. the bills should be a cakewalk though. they are awful. our defense can probably win it by themselves
Fuck that. Mac needs to stay put until this off-season. A first round pick for Cooper?! Hell no. Thank you Mac for not touching that mess
Dallas jumped the gun, that's not the going rate for WR's.... I still don't think help is coming. What's here is what's here
If the Jets are only willing to give up a 3rd Rounder for a WR, it will be very difficult to improve their current situation. Jets need to trade for WR and build OL through draft.
Loved Tate at FSU big body, large catch radius and great hands, but he doesn't have the speed to get any separation at this level. DeSean Jackson or Mohammed Sanu are rumored to be available as is Emmanuel Sanders. Makes sense as he is more likely to bring an offer than Thomas.
Hard to believe we had a virtual conga line at WR during the preseason and now we have nobody to step up. WTF is up with the talent evaluation process at Florham Pk.? Are they that blind on offense that they couldn't spot NFL talent anywhere in the nation? Did our scouting dept. take the winter off? I thought scouting was Macc's strong suit. So far the jury is still out..
If everything went as well as possible this year, minimal injuries, less penalties, disciplined play etc. this team at its best is a 7-8 win team. I don't want to waste any future draft picks to apply a band aid on a team going nowhere this year. This team still could have a top 10 pick in the '19 draft. I'm looking forward to a higher pick while developing a QB, exposing our crappy OL to force Mac to do something FINALLY in getting OL. I want nothing to do with trading for a WR. There are 8 teams with fewer wins than the Jets. Given the injuries etc. I think that number will dwindle a a bit between now and the draft.
Mac sniffed out WR JaNardeous Quashon Jones or J.J jones for short Mac was super impressed with his 0 catches in preseason for the chargers and is excited to see what JaNardeous can do!!!
