Rational brain: It's just one game. It's way too early to tell for any of these QBs. The transitive property (a beats b beats c means a beats c) doesn't apply to the NFL. Lizard brain: Fuck yeah Darnold! Rosen's a bust, championship baby!
Just need Allen to be a bust and set the Bills back through 2021. Don’t care what Rosen does. Mayfield could be a concern but like Mahomes we won’t have to face him twice a year, and sometimes not at all. Brady, Big Rape, and Rivers(not that he’s ever won anything) will be done soon, and Luck’s team is in shambles. If Sams for real, the Jets could be in very good shape over the next 4-5 years.
Rosen looks like an absolute turd. Can’t manage the clock, has Cutler like body language. Glad we got darnold over this joker.
Obviously too early to tell. Airman looked like a turd year 1 Goff looked like a turd year 1 That being said, Rosen sucks- wow LoL
The one thing you can't teach a QB is pocket presence. Rosen might throw a really pretty ball but I would much rather have pocket presence. I love the way Sam senses pressure, moves in the pocket and extends plays. This is what could make Sam a great QB in a few years.
I feel bad for Rosen. The Cards organization does not know what they’re doing out there. If I were a fan I would be screaming that they fire everyone tonight.
What pocket? Yeah...what a horrible game on national TV. Von Miller stole his lunch money multiple times. It was like a butt fumble spread out over 3 hours.
Honestly, tracking him against the others will only be able to be down after a few seasons, not games. IMO, if Sam stays healthy, and they provide him with protection and weapons, he's going to be the best Jets QB since Namath. I don't care what the other guys do if he achieves that.
I hear ya. I don't want our QB to be the guy in the PG-13 movie everyone's *really* hoping makes it happen. I want him to be like the guy in the rated R movie.
Of course you will get a better idea of a QB when looking at him a couple years down the road compared to others, but that wasn't what the purpose of this thread was for. Constantly threads are popping up and people are talking about the other guys that went in the same draft as Darnold. Not to mention, we chose Darnold over Rosen and Allen. It's nice to have a weekly rolling overview of all of their stats to see how they all perform their rookie years. That's all it is for
I wasn't criticizing your thread or effort, just saying that for me, I've seen enough to decide that Darnold is the "real deal", and unless something catastrophic happens - we are the Jets after all - that he'll be that FQB we've been seeking since Namath, better than Pennington, better than O'Brien, and so I'm not worried about the game to game stats or comparisons to the others. I was all in on Rosen, and had Darnold behind Mayfield based on what I had seen/read/heard prior to the draft. But after he was drafted, there was a whole lot more stuff that became available, and based on that, and his work so far, I became a Darnold convert. He's a great fir for this team and city, and while the other guys may prove to be great over time, I have no regrets, nor do I expect to have any.
Sam actually has a well designed O, Rosen doesn't. The fact that they left Rosen in that game says a lot about the Cardinals management. They signed Bradford for huge money including 300K plus every game he's suited up for. Notice since they pulled Bradford for Rosen, Bradford isn't even game eligible. They guaranteed him 15 million and they aren't suiting him up to save 300K a game. People here complain about Mac and Bowles without looking around the league. FYI Pat Shurmur was the Cardinals first choice as Head coach to replace Arians. Sam is really good and he's on a well managed team.
