yup people are way to quick to jump over players over stats. beasley had an amazing year with 15.5 sacks his 2nd year in the league his other 2 years he had 4 and 5 sacks. he's also never had 40 tackles or more in a season. so far this year in 5 games he has 6 tackles and 1 sack. if he was a jet people would be bitching about him like crazy right now. jenkins meanwhile has 2.5 sacks and 2 FF this season so far. last year he had 49 tackles, 3 sacks and 1 FF. very comparable to beasleys 29 tackles and 5 sacks 1 FF last year
This thread is going about the same as the Muhammad Wilkerson thread just before Macc cut his fat ass.
Don't listen to (I suspect) Leonard Williams agent's shills. The heart of the matter is this guy will be looking to break the bank soon. For him to be worth it he'll need to produce the way he has the past couple of games. No 3-4 blah blah blah excuse no he needs a Mack type pass rusher so he can get his excuse. NO!!!! HE HAS TO BE THAT GUY if he wants the kinda dough he'll be seeking.
not a single person in this thread has said he needs a mack type pass rusher and you know that. lol 34 dline players are never meant to be THAT GUY alone. Hence why even after being asked repeatedly to name a single 34 dline player that has racked up high sack totals without there being a legit edge rusher on the roster you still have yet to name one, Let alone contribute even a little bit of info beyond your uneducated personal opinion. On top that your opinion of break the bank has also yet to be even supported by your opinion of what leanord would want ina contract let alone of what an acceptable number would be per year on a contract to keep a talent like Leanord. Lets be honest 90% of your posts ive come across are nothing more then emotion based rubbish
Anyone think his lack of stats benefits the Jets? Nobody broke the bank based on QB pressures alone. Still young, another few years at a decent contract could be big. I want Big Cat on this team long term.. others posters said, his job is to occupy lineman. The Maye complaint by the OP, sorry man thats straight up a dumb take. He missed a lot the preseason and regular season with a foot injury. I would like to know how you expect him to keep his cardio up, to a gameday level, when he has a foot injury.
Williams is double teamed almost every play. There isn't anybody else good enough on the line to draw doubles and open him up for big sack #s and interior pressure. 3-4 DEs are not meant to be sack machines, much criticism of Leonard is ridiculous.
So what's the excuse for why he didn't put up big sacks numbers in his rookie season when he had Wilkerson, Richardson, Snacks on the line with him? Ohhhhh that's right he was a rookie my bad. Excuses, excuses always excuses. We need more production not excuses.
