Yep, doesn't help that Dick Scott reads that same "GET OUT NOW OR YOU'LL DIE" script everytime a storm approaches the state... then he hands out government contracts out to family businesses because it's an emergency situation
Damn, there's not much new development in Mexico beach.... lots of old houses and trailers. Old beach shack type structures that I'm sure are gone
Basically a larger version of Andrew you can see that small cape I was referring to on that map.... wouldnt be surprised if it wasnt there anymore
I am in the middle of the state near Disney, no where near the storm, but we just had a small storm come through and put a 15 inch think branch through the neighbors roof. I can't imagine hanging around for something like is in the video I just posted above. I love a good storm and I am slightly demented but not that demented. Oh, and some friends from Kentucky just happened to be in the Panhandle on vacation this week.
Just saw they headed over to Orange Beach, Alabama, last night, about 120 miles west of PCB so shouldn't be quite as bad for them.
Ha... ok. I cruised by the beach around lunch to check out the ocean and there was a mini-van with kentucky plates, and that family was dead-set on having a "day at the beach" despite the fact that sand was blowing sideways in the 25kt winds and passing rain showers. pretty retarded... but HTF is this thing STILL a CAT3?!?!
that graph that you posted just goes to show how much we lucked out here. I mean...the difference between 2 and even early 5 is huge. Yeah...vinyl took a beating...the amazing thing is...not sure if they have showed footage of the miles...and miles...and miles....and MILES of huge pines and trees along sides of the road...my road it goes on for 3 miles and never ends all the way to College. Mulch will be real cheap in the spring.
