He had a real chance there in the 9th to make amends,,,,,,,I could care less if this guy is a Yankee next year trade him if possible for a pitcher
I don't disagree, but with Stanton's no-trade clause, the length of his contract and the amount of money he's owed, he would be very difficult to move.
Hate to even think this, but given all this, do you entertain offers for Judge to reseed the farm and get the arms you need? Just throwing it out there. Clint Frazier is going to need somewhere to play soon too.
They've been trying to move Frazier for a long time, and then he got injured. He is gone at the first chance Yankees will buy starting pitching with their new found 'cap' space
Here's the irony with Stanton. Remember earlier this year when Cashman traded for Stanton? Cashman looked like the cat that ate the canary. The N.Y. media played it as the savvy old GM fleecing rookie owner Jeter because Jeter gave up a slugging superstar for very little in return. Maybe Jeter wasn't so dumb after all. He dumped an albatross contract and a guy whose impact doesn't match his stats and who disappears when it counts. Now, the Yankees are stuck with Stanton and his unmovable contract, and he's clogging up the DH spot. If we gave Cashman truth serum, I bet he would admit he'd like to have a do-over on that trade.
That sucked. The Red Sox were the better team, but the Yankees blew several opportunities to win that series. Happ was a waste. Stanton couldn't deliver. Severino blew it, and CC did what he could, but that tough. Torres also had several chances to change the series and blew it. Still: the future is bright. Go Astros.
Buster Olney tweeted Indians are trading veterans due to expense limitations. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/indian...ilable-trades-winning-91-games-194352739.html Is it wild to think the Yankees package Frazier, another top prospect, and a middle prospect for Kluber? Carrasco available too.
I'd like that. I would also like Harper or Machado. Or Both. Is it possible to sign Harper? Not sure how that would work with Judge and Stanton. Sounds like a good outfield to me though.
Be very careful. Scott Boras, Harper's agent, is shooting for the all-time highest contract, both in terms of length (maybe 15 years) and number of dollars. Whoever signs Harper is likely to be stuck with him for the duration of that contract. I'd be very leery of committing that heavily to the player who has been the face of the most underachieving franchise in recent memory. Besides, the Yankees have enough power. They need starting pitchers.
The Yankees are finalizing a deal to acquire SP James Paxton from Seattle for 3 prospects, including top-rated pitcher Justus Sheffield, according to multiple reports. Big move! Great start to the off-season!
I prefer Harper over Machado. The Yankees were built on power lefties and haven’t had one in a long time.
Agreed, and with Didi out until after the all star break, this lineup needs a lefty in the worst way. Plus, they'd be able to market him like no other player.
That is a tough call. I would love either. I thought Bryce Harper said he always dreamed of being a Yankee. If so, should be a slam dunk. Instead I have not heard much about that. I guess trading for Stanton made a pursuit of Harper less likely, but it would still be great.
