Brad Johnson was lifted for Bollinger yesterday, however Childress wouldn't say after the game whether the change was permanent. (They could stick with Johnson, go to Bollinger or give Tavarious Jackson a chance.) I would love to see Bollinger attempt to take on the Jets D in two weeks. (Although, I wonder how some posters here would reconcile their man-love for Bollinger with the need for a Jets W.)
If Bollinger plays against us then the deal we made for Mosley is a RIP OFF, as with a trade we BOUGHT A VICTORY. Bollinger is probably one of the top 5 worst QBs on any NFL roster in my opinion.
IF their season is done then starting Bolly instead of Jackson will be a HUGE mistake by Childress. If Jackson is the the future and Johnson is getting put into the old QB's home then you might as well see what you have in Jackson. You already know what you have in Bolly. from clipboard to canton...bollywood
WHAT? Based on what? I'm not defending him, but hes never been given a fair go. Who are the 5 worst QBs then?
Bollinger is awful. I said what I said for dramatic effect, but the man is not an NFL calibur QB. He's a CFL player in an NFL uniform. He got a fair shot and looked AWFUL last year. He's 5'10", he doesn't throw a good deep ball, and he has the happiest feet in the business.
Happy feet kept him alive last year. How he would perform behind our current line , we'll never know. I don't think he did get a fair shot though.
He's so awful that a known QB Guru, Brad Childress, not only traded for him but gave him an extension based on what he saw in practice. But I guess JI2004 knows better, didn't you say the same thing about Chris Simms? Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think you are a being a bit harsh on Bollinger, did he steal your lunch money or something? I personally don't love his skills but he is a serviceable QB, although I saw him take a big hit to his non throwing shoulder yesterday and thought he was done. I guess he finished the game though....
I had 2 TV's in the bar I was at. The Jets game on one and the Bears-Vikes next to it. I forgot Bolly was there and the second he went in, I went nuts. I actually said out loud "Here comes the best QB in the NFC North!" Then I realized it was the Bears and he gets sacked 2 or 3 times because the Vikes line can't block.
the guy cant make quick passes b/c he cant get it over the line...and he cant hang in the pocket b/c he always has a crappy o-line(not his fault) the only way he could even have a shot of being successful is to get him to rollout on almost every single pass...which is not much of an insult b/c guys like jake plummer(i believe he has the best rating of throwing on the move/outside the pocket) rely on the same thing the problem is...his o-cordinators never roll him out, but just leave him in their to be crushed or have his passes knocked down
johnson has been terrible these past few weeks with a ton of turnovers...so a change should be made i thought it should have been made a few weeks ago if the vikings still had a shot(like they did a few weeks back) i would have gone for bollinger, but they dont stand a chance and they might as well go to jackson
Interesting note on Jackson: ? Tarvaris Jackson, Min Jackson came in for Bollinger Jackson came in for Bollinger in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to Chicago but tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune he's "not ready" to start if coach Brad Childress decides to make a change.
Bollinger left the game yesterday because he got sacked and went down hard on his left shoulder -- i think he may have been injured -- doubt he would be in the running to play Johnson will play -- he had a couple of bad bounces yesterday, but he is their best option
I feel the same way....also i thought the play calling was horrible for him last year 2.....i didnt think he was that bad
