I can't comprehend why Macc never addressed the OL? Doesn't he know that to be successful in the NFL you need to address the OL & DL?. I guess is time to clean the house once again.
Even if they win, the criticisms will continue, as they should. Inconsistency is a back breaker in just about any profession sans meteorologist. The question will continue to be why Bowles can’t get this team prepared on a consistent basis. Even if he does have the team prepared, the Jets just don’t have the offensive firepower to take a game over at this point. Rookie QB running for his life with average backs and one receiving option who teams will start to take away is not a recipe for putting points on the board.
Logically the Jets SHOULD win because of the circumstances. But Von Miller and Chubbs scare me against this line with rookie Q. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jets are actually one of the least penalized teams in the league. Who’d a thought. I’d say that if they play penalty free and force turnovers they should win the game, but clearly that’s not enough.
It could be a season defining moment for our OL and for our QB depending in the OL performance. The combinations of the possible outcomes from who plays well/poorly on either side of the line scares me. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk
To be truly Jets like though we need to win 4 of our last 5 games just to take us out of the running for any blue chip draft prospects - maybe throw an injury or two in there as well
I think they let SD play a half of football till Von gets penalized for an aggressive sack..Sam gets his bell rung and the dummies finally get smart and let McGown play the entire second half.. Clueless brain trust gets a scare and Darnold preserved from some serious sh@t happening to him No Trumaine J to show us how worthless he is?? Won't make a difference ...I see a low scoring game but Denver by 10 points
Another milk carton candidate. Then again, I guess we do see him but it’s usually chasing the guy who just torched him.
I'm always hopeful they'll squeak out a win but realistically I don't see the Jets OL being able to stop the Miller / Chubb combo and given the Jets history this week will be the week Brandon Marshall shows up after a quiet 1st 4 games. The Denver offense is where the chances of the Jets winning this game are hopeful. They did a great job drafting Freeman and signing Lindsay, they looked like world beaters against the Chiefs especially Lindsay and they have 2 good receivers in Sanders and Thomas but that's about it. The rest of their receivers aren't that good nor are their TE's. This is a perfect game to play bump and run cover against their 2 WR's to disrupt timing as there is no good TE for dump offs. They just need to stay in their lanes and not let a RB roam free on a wheel route etc. If they do this they can hold Denver under 20 pts. The questions I have is toilet smart enough to see they are weak at TE and at WR beyond their 2 starters and does he have the balls to play bump and run? This is a game where I wish it were Rex coaching. You know he would shut down this offense. Knowing toilet he will likely play 10yds off the ball and Thomas will have a 150yds with no receptions longer than 10 yds, Sanders will be a decoy going deep creating a huge gap for RB's to catch the ball in space and their RB's will feast all day.
Johnson's injury is disappointing. He was awful last week and people began saying he was a bad signing. I thought he was good, but playing like that, now hurting himself, it really hurts the defense. He is becoming Revis 2.0. The problem is he was never Revis 1.0. It will be tough to guard Thomas, Sanders and Sutton. Hopefully the Jets can do it.
Does not matter to me how the Jets perform in this game. Tailgate weather 78 to 80 degrees. Be in the parking lot at 8:30AM. Having a Chile con Carne cook off with my friend. Green beer on ice. Leave the game at 3rd qtr to avoid the scrum getting out of the Parking lot. Listening to the remainder of the game going home on the Parkway. Things don’t change in Jet land.
