I said this in the game thread, but the Jets were barely trying yesterday. This is what happens when you have players that have zero confidence that the game plan they've been given to execute has any remote chance of success. When the coaches suck, and its obvious to the players, the players mail it in. Which is the only way to explain how Dede Bridgewater, et al. never had a guy within ten yards of him all game.
I don't think he's a general or a soldier; more like a colonel, Colonel Mustard, who doesn't have a clue.
Looking around the NFL I'm thinking maybe Matt LaFleur for next coach? Young offensive mind. He was the QB coach for the redskins and falcons when kyle Shanahan was around, and when mcvay was with the skins. He was good enough that Mcvay wanted him as the O coordinator, and vrabel stole him away after 1 year. If Mariota and the titans offense has a good year, I think you go out and get him as the head coach.
I don't see them as tied together even though they both showed up at the same time. Remember there is this odd parallel organizational chart where these guys are merely coworkers without tied responsibilities and, in all reality, neither has anyone to report to.
I've said it a couple times in other threads and I will say only once more....I feel like I am wasting my life away when watching this team under Todd Bowles. It is the most unenthused I have been as a Jets fan since Rich Kotite. I absolutely can not wait until he is gone. We are on our 3rd wasted year of football. I can't say his first year was a waste because it was exciting but that was mostly due to Fitzmagic and a good supporting cast. It ended in an awful way and any decent coach would have made the playoffs that year but Bowles choked it away. The 2 years following that and this year are complete wastes. If not for Sam Darnold I would be completely uninterested in this season, and even that I am afraid we may damage him. There is more to life than football, but we obviously enjoy it as a big part of our lives and time is flying by and I feel like I am completely wasting my time and energy watching this team.
Wasn't that one of the supposed reasons Morton was fired, because he quit on the team in Denver?? What the hell did Bowles do on Sunday??
I heard he was killed by Professor Plum with a lead pipe in the Conservatory. I used to love that game. They changed the board (what else) and ruined it.
I hate to come across as a conspiracy theorist, but what if Morton quit because Bowles told him to become more conservative?
When the score was 18-0 and he lined up to kick the field goal from inside the 10 yard line I was pissed. When the Jaguars jumped offsides, making it even closer, and Bowles didn't even think about doing anything but declining the penalty, I was furious! loser mentality
I just read: Since Bowles was hired there have been 43 instances of a team in the red zone on fourth and 8 yards (or fewer) in the 4th quarter when trailing by 20 points or more. Only twice has the team chosen to kick a field gold. Guess which coach did it BOTH TIMES!!!!
10-6 ->5-11 ->5-11->1-3 and counting... I see a trend here and no, it ain't upwards..more like a flat line to nowhere.
Williams is supposed to be a team leader. He is content being a loser. This quote is even more reason to can Bowles and get someone to light a fire under Williams' ass
