This is exactly why I called for firing Bowles in the preseason. Unorthodox? Sure! But it was clear even last year that he isn't capable of taking this tea where it needs to be. let alone develop a FQB prospect - a 21 year old FQB prospect. Why waste any more time, and risk setting Sam back even more? The ONLY reason to not fire him right now is that there isn't a better candidate available.
For the record, because it deserves to be stated. I WAS WRONG ABOUT BOWLES. COMPLETELY WRONG. Tonight's game changed my mind completely. Week after week I find myself making excuses. Tonight there was no excuse. He made ZERO adjustments. The offense came out flat. Darnold was running for his life all game. And no effort whatsoever on offense. Bowles has to go. I was wrong defending him.
