I was finally able to watch the full game of the Jets Dolphins game, and the Jet fan in me wanted to puke. I am sorry if this offends anyone here with these words, but for the life of me I just can't understand why ball security is such a joke on this team. I know many of you are worried about the development of Darnold, but I believe the big picture is being missed. I don't see a sense of urgency in the organization when it comes to ball security. Players are not punished or reprimanded from what I can see. Good teams protect the ball and I don't want to hear the talent excuse. Ball security involves commitment and I simply don't see it in this team. I see plays were players are not following basic fundamental football principles and I am surprised the jets didn't have even more turnovers in the last game. I would recommend many of you watch various you tube videos which in some cases go back to youth football lessons showing ball security. Afterwards watch various Jets videos and see if you are not shocked as me at how badly the players are not following these principles. There is no excuse for this and this is what frustrates me the most. It is mostly about desire when it comes to ball security hence this is why I am so annoyed at the Jet organization for being so lax on this. I honestly can never see this team be a wining team until this lazy stupid practice does not stop!
To say this organization is not putting any effort into ball security is ridiculous. One of Sam Darnold's major flaw coming out of college was his ball security. He had a bad habit of fumbling the football. There have been numerous videos showing how his hand placement and protection of the football has changed dramatically when compared to his collegiate tape. I give Bates major props for that. At USC Darnold had 21 fumbles in 2 years. So far in all preseason and 2 regular season games, he has had 1. The Jets have 2 fumbles total. Fumbles: Russell Wilson has 4. Ben Roethlisberger has 3. Deshaun Watson has 3. Fumbles lost: The Saints have 4. The Patriots, Eagles, and Steelers all have 3. Teams with 2 fumbles lost? Jets Dolphins Giants Seahawks Redskins Ravens Only 7 teams in the league have 0 The Jets are average when it comes to fumbles so far. So I'm a little lost on why you feel this team has a bad sense of ball security? According to your argument, more than half the league has a bad sense of ball security
can the players do a better job protecting the ball? yes. does it mean they're lazy? no. Does it mean they should be reprimanded? Not unless it becomes a trend. See unlike the Patriots, not everyone has Tom Brady who can make me look like a good WR, so unfortunately most teams don't have the luxury of just benching players for fumbling. Which you'll soon learn post Brady.
My guess he has 2 accounts, one where he’s a Patriots troll and one where he pretends to be a Jets fan and posts tons of pessimistic stuff. Just forgot to switch accounts before making this thread. Wonder what the name of the burner account is. That, or I’ve been misinterpreting every single one of his posts. Could’ve sworn he was a Pats fan.
Went through his thread history and apparently he’s said in the past that he’s both a Patriots AND Jets fan. Never seen that combo before...
I believe Jets are +2 this year on net turnovers. Would I love for them to be +50 already? Sure. But they're middle of the pack right now.
The funniest part is the Patriots have 3 fumbles so far this year, which is second in the NFL. And they lost last week in part because of a fumble. Oh the irony
Guys. Make all the fun you want but Patriots is a legitimate Pats fan. And he was a Pats fan well before Bellichick and Brady. Back then he also liked Jets and wanted them to be successful while not playing against Pats. I know hard to comprehend but Pats weren't the Pats of today in the past and rivalry wasn't as stark as it is today. So I understand him really.
He says he's a "fan" of both the Patriots and the Jets. As a loyal Jets fan myself, I find this hard to understand, however, he's not a troll. He's like that character in the movie SPLIT and right now he's being a "concerned"Jets fan. Translation: He's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
