I’m cool with that. If nothing else, it’ll be a learning experience. As long as he’s actually learning and improving, of course.
Pryor took the heat for that throw but in reality you've got a 6'4" receiver throw it higher so either he gets it or it goes out the back of the end zone. I blame the OC more on that play. Those back of the end zone crossing routes are the toughest play for a QB and lead to more int's than any other end zone play, you don't add that to the playbook until he has his legs under him. How about a rub route with Pryor going to the corner for a jump ball, a fade to Pryor etc. You could blame Pryor for not stopping (like he said when taking the blame but that's BS.. you don't stop on a crossing route), blame Darnold for not putting it only where Pryor could get it but I think it's just a piss poor play by Bates.
I saw Pryor slow down and not follow through his route. IMHO Darnold put it where Pryor was supposed to be. He he follows through his route it’s either a TD or an incompletion.
Here's what I read, Pryor is saying he should have stopped his route. imho you never ever stop a crossing route https://nypost.com/2018/09/16/jets-receiver-takes-all-the-blame-for-killer-sam-darnold-int/
Did Glauber say Darnold was downright mediocre after the Lions game? If he did, he just has tough standards. If he didn't, he's an idiot.
The media has been desperate to skewer Darnold for some reason. Even after last game, the emphasis seemed to be less on him coming back from the pick 6 and more on the fact that he threw it in the first place. It all seems like "Darnold's career opened with a disastrous pick six. He dusted himself off and had a great game. But that was only after an embarrassing, stupid, shit-for-brains, moronic play to begin his career. Kudos to him for having a good rest of the game, but let's never forget that incredibly reprehensible fuck up that he made!"
Totally Agree. Many here seem to think the pass in the EZ was a miss by Sam. I disagree, his mistake was he rushed throwing the ball away too early or he would have nailed him for a TD. He will get better as he gets more comfortable.
Darnold played very well for the most part. Made a couple of bad throws - it happens to everybody. He needs better protection , a little better play calling, and for his receivers to stop dropping balls. The NY media is ridiculous . Last week Darnold was God with all the silly headlines and this week he is ‘ mediocre ‘. Have they forgotten he is 21 years old on a team lacking some major pieces of the puzzle?
He seemed to settle down right after the first pick and played great from there forward. Looks like early game jitters are going to be an issue for him at least for now. Let's just hope that he doesn't need to turn it over every week in order to shake them.
Sam looks really good. I'm watching the game replay right now, and barring drops, fumbles, blocking Quinn with a TE, Pryor taking a scoring play off, they score a bunch of points. Penalties.... ST, letting the punts roll down deep was fucking maddening. Darnold was hardly the problem. I kept reading the game thread and hearing people bitch that passes were consistently thrown high, was a bit over dramatic. He made a few mistakes. Welcome to game 2 of his career. Overall, better than solid performance. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

To think, if the team showed up ... Darnold prob gets close to 400 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. All with a shit line.
Darnold in the 2min offense looked incredible, he just kept finding open guys and extending plays. Herndon needs to get out of bounds on that one play, he needs to get in the endzone before half and he needs to catch a wide open pass on a key third down. Those 3 plays killed us. I expect Sam to make mistakes but they dont seem to faze him and he keeps slinging it. I love it.
it was a bad throw by the kid. Rushed, unnecessary. even if Pryor could've found the ball it would not have been completed. he wasn't open. Darnold got excited because the defense finally made a play and it looked like he could bring the team back, but he shouldn't have thrown it. rookie mistake
Pryor wants nothing to do with contact. Dude was stuck playing patty cake with Howard. He needs to be cut from the team. Talented but unreliable, you cannot trust Pryor unless he's wide the hell open. Can't trust him to make a play like that.
