Once again, Bates seems to have no clue how to get a rookie QB into a groove. It's like he's TOO confident in Sam and treats him like a seasoned vet rather than a rookie.
Darnold could have put it more on the numbers but; I don't mind that throw. Pryor has to get his head around faster. He was a couple yards away from the back of the end zone; when was he planning on locating the ball?
darnold got a little excited that's on him, but would have like pryor to contest a bit more on that play
Does he have it under control with both feet? His initial "contact" with the ball, it is being bobbled. He pulls it in, but I thought he steps out with the other foot after that point. That said - that's a no doubt interception in the NFL for 70+ years, but for replay.
Darnold threw a dumb pass before half that cost us a FG, and now this, and he spotted the Phins 7 points. Still a lot of time left for him to redeem himself, gotta feel for the defense though, they got them right off the field there.....
Strap yourself in. As a rookie quarterback who turned the ball over a ton his senior year in college, there's a lot more that still to come.
Oh please, Sanchez won his first 3 games and played good in all of them, a lot better than Darnold. Stop jumping the gun.
I mean this is EXACTLY what Darnold's scouting report was. Poised, a leader, accurate most of the time but too careless with the ball. That said it looked like it was a timing route that got screwed up by Pryor getting bumped/not turning around in time.
