Another week without Maye. Need to be careful against Miami. Kenny Stills has proven his deep threat skills time and time again.
Doubt he plays on a short week against Cleveland either. Look for a Week 4 return at Jacksonville. At least I hope!
Agree. I don't know if I trust man coverage on the outside against Stills this weekend. He BURNED Tennessee like it was nothing. Even against Detroit we showed signs of struggle man to man.
I hope he's as close to 100% as possible when he comes back. No need to be rushed back only to re injure the foot.
With all of the positives, this kinda flew under the radar. They were shredded on the opening drive of the second half when the outcome was still in doubt. Definitely something to keep an eye on this Sunday.
Another 2nd round bust. That's a joke. He's really really good. We're set at safety for the next decade.
Yup. A few times we got burned. If it weren't a blow out and if the defense didnt perform the way they did, it would have been highlighted as a major issue. We need help over the top. I hope Bowles adjusts
Golladay was getting Trumaine on the deep crossing patterns. He's not known as a burner so something to look out for. I'm guessing Claiborne may draw Stills...I'm not up on the Fins WR's though.
Stills is dangerous. Destroyed Malcolm Butler on a 75 yd TD. Have to make sure we limit the big plays down the field. FS play will be big.
Tannehill is nowhere near the same QB, especially as a pure passer that Stafford is. Plus Detroit has a full complement of WRs, Miami doesnt. One should have little to do with the other. Plus for all the talk about what we gave up to Detroit the defense gave up 7 points. Against the Lions, at their house, thats a great job.
Dont see the short week as a reason for him not to play. Not like hes playing this week and has only a few days to recover. More like hes getting a long week to prepare for Cleveland if hes close now
Its not really about over the top, because the vertical passing game was pretty much shut down. The biggest play of that drive was Golden Tate being wide open in the middle of the field. Simply cannot make these calls with no stud pass-rusher. Heck, I don't like that formation to begin with. Shit in Madden and shit in real life. Also give credit to the Lions, it was a solid drive.
Yup, a blown coverage. Sucks but it wasnt an indication of how the defense performed overall. They blew on, think it was Jenkins who completely blew it But that was the only TD we gave up on defense all game.
Yup an excellent job by Bowles and great play-calling by Kacy Rodgers too. I'm just not a fan of that specific formation, especially when Stafford is trying to get the ball out quick. You leave 1 man covering over the top and the middle of the field. What should have happened perhaps is Avery (54) not giving Tate a free release. However, I am nitpicking the game at this stage.
I haven't seen much info on Maye's injury - is it related to his offseason surgery or did something new happen?
Not related, which makes me nervous. That's now two injuries that will have kept him out of action for extended periods of time. He's too damn good to be ravaged by injuries.
