I agree that the Pats' silver helmets are fine and don't look out of place, but imo red and blue go with silver/gray much better than green does. I disagree regarding unis succeeding or failing because of its design and not because of a complimentary color. Color is important. During college and for a year or so afterwards, I sold men's clothing, even managed a men's boutique store. Color is totally important. I saw a lot of design work fail because of ugly color combinations or because men simply didn't like certain colors together. I don't think I've ever seen silver or gray and green mixed together on suits, ties, sweaters, polos, etc.
http://www.eclubletterwinners.com/photos/2017-Church-Walter.jpg Soon as i heard silver i thought of the charlie batch era EMU Eagles. Ironically after this they switched to a uni that was a blatant copy of the Jets. I actually like the color combo..but its way too Philadelphia for my tastes. I like the Kelly/black combo 100x more.
I think a little grey could work if it's not overdone, especially just as an alternate. Fits with Jets. Can add with faceMask, gloves, maybe number trim. Helmet you posted wasn't terrible either Don't think any other color besides that would work.
Fuck it--lets add purple. Did you not SEE how resplendent we looked the other night? I'm writing Chris Johnson a stern letter. Must not change.
no silver. there is nothing more annoying than silver helmets to me. green and gray actually work really well if done properly. we have a local high school team that is green and white and they went with green helmets, with gray pants a few years ago and i thought it looked fantastic. but like everything else its a matter of taste.
Not saying change the colors, said we could add a complimentary color. A slight trim color isnt going to make for a hideous uniform as easily as a horrid design would. I'm hoping they come up with something up to date and clean like the Jaguars did where a third color as described couldnt effect the final product.
That picture is a perfect illustration though that green and silver do go together. That was all I was saying, they could go with a silver helmet if they wanted to. I wouldnt prefer it, I think, but have to admit it would work. Hard to keep saying I dont want to copy team X when realistically there are only so many color combos that work in a uniform and there are 32 teams in the NFL and then all the college teams kind of makes it easy to say we'll look like so and so
I hate the idea of silver helmets for the Jets--but I loved the old Seahawks' silver helmets , Bonus points for crushing a Patsy QB, even if was just Hugh Millen....
I love the uniforms they wore Monday night, but I don't know if they can wear their "road" unis at home. Can they just have one for home and away? Assuming they need something besides the all white, I'd prefer simply changing out the predominantly while jersey for a kelly green one, everything else stays the same.Let the players make a statement, not the uniform.
Home team chooses the color--white or dark. Personally, and not to sound racist, I'd pick all white every time. Always hated when, in early September when it was 90 degrees out and 110 on the field for a 1:00 o'clock game we'd wear the dark/hunter/forrest green jersey that absorbed all the sunlight. It's fucking SCIENCE Herm--wear the WHITE jerseys.
I agree, I really like what the Rams did with their uniforms. Looks really sharp and clean. I would love for the Jets to just make the Monday night uniforms full time for next year (Home Jerseys). Nothing crazy is needed like a new logo or color.
No need to fix a classic. Just keep going with those white uniforms. As for the green, give me something like this in terms of color and stripes (minus the fur )
I prefer more of a kelly green though. I could live with the darker shade however. I agree that this is THE classic look!
What color would you consider the green jersey i posted from 60's? I love that one. It's not a drab green like now, but not a kelly green either.
It's not bad, and I could live with it, but I prefer closer to kelly - a brighter, lighter shade. It's the classic design that I love though, so the shade of green isn't as important for me. I especially like the "all white" version, and would prefer that be their home uni.
