He doesn't know the team, how it's viewed or how the game is played. And apparently what is or isn't a fact
You're serious, aren't you? That's a sad situation. A season is not built in a day. I'm very happy to see the Jets played so well tonight but I certainly saw things of concern. If you truly think that there are only blue skies ahead, you're in even worse shape than I suspected earlier.
Oh boy. Once again who are they? Because looking at the numerous "pundits" websites the Jets won just what they said they would 4 games. The only folks that stated less than or full tank were on message boards. So not overachievers just right where they thought they would be.
Ok then.. The People have spoken and this thread remains open. Until it starts to get out of control...
I thought Bowles and staff did a great job in preparing for last night's game and said as much in the game thread. But that's only 1 game with an entire offseason to prepare. I *hope* he can have the team prepared for Miami on short rest and then again against Cleveland. Plus we can't read too much into this win because it was against another failed Belicheat disciple who is slowly learning how difficult football can be when he is not surrounded by the cheating apparatus of the Cheatriots. Fuck that fat bearded rapist!
Pure and utter BS. Everyone, everywhere is the answer. Even if you were right, and youre not, 4 wins is less than what they actually won, they won 5. With McCown out. Not one of your imaginary "pundits" websites, 4 isnt 5 and winning out of McCowns 13 starts is even better. How about this? After Bowles and his team played the best possible game anyone could have coached and played we STFU and stop whining about how much he sucks. Take a rest already. Today it sounds pretty ridiculous to butch and moan about the HC to anyone who has said lets see him coach with better talent. Go argue about the color of the sky or something else
I'm going to complain about Bowles, but they are nitpicks and the team was excellent last night. 1. Wasted timeouts in the first half. Some of them were after dead balls, so it was really confusing what was going on. I'm not sure if it falls on Bowles or Bates or both, but the buck stops with Bowles. 2. While the penalties were small and not out of hand, there were still 6 of them. If this had been any kind of game, those could have been costly. 3. While we quickly blew them away, we held them to a FG in the first half, and as soon as the 3rd quarter started, we allowed a TD drive. That was not good. It didn't matter, but it still wasn't good. That is pretty much it. The team was ready to roll and didn't flinch after the poor start. I'm not a fan of Bowles, but this was a good game and as I said, I'm grasping at straws to complain.
You saw things of concern last night? You have no clue what you saw. Thanks for the warning over the skies ahead. Id hate to not be as ready for the bad days as you apparently are. Miserable fans love to spread their misery and have others join in their misery. These are the really sad situations. The Jets play pretty much a perfect game on opening night with a rookie QB on the big stage and you see areas of concern. Thats pretty bad. This kind of miserable outlook after a game like the one the Jets played indicates a deep issue that needs immediate medical attention. LOL
1. Darnold addressed the issue, the headset in his helmet was going in and out. He took the blame. Wasnt on Bowles, shockingly, Bowles is immediately blamed by fans. LOL, perfection 2. 6 penalties isnt a worry. Unless youre looking for something to complain about. I'll take 6 per week in and week out. 6 per game would have had us as the 3 least penalized team in the NFL a year ago. Nothing to worry about those numbers, specially without a PI or a bunch of 15 yarders 3. Its Matt Stafford. Its a full complement of very good WRs. We held them at home to 10 points. TEN. Nothing about giving up only 10 points is not good.
I did not see that about the headset. 6 penalties seems fine, but if you add one long PI to that, suddenly, it doesn't look so good. The defense was excellent, Bowles had everyone good to go. My point was that after halftime, when all the "adjustments" are made, the Lions walked right down the field and tied up the game. Perhaps I wasn't clear enough, Bowles had them ready to roll and he did a great job last night. These were the only negatives that I saw. Hopefully we clean them up.
Yeah, he talked about the headset, we would never know if Darnold didnt mention it. I get the penalty story changes with PIs added in, I said as much. But I'm not going to worry about what ifs. I would say the whole story would change with 5 more penalties or 3 less. Point is 6 would be top 3 and really Bowles 1st and 2nd year we were top 5. Doesnt seem to be an issue for his teams. I could care less when they scored, as long as its not a late game winning score. The defense gave up only 10 points to a high powered offense, led by a top flight QB. That they gave up a score after half had nothing to do with coaching or adjustments. Any player will tell you that adjustments at half are overblown by fans.
This is false. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/...layoff-odds-from-our-computers-experts-vegas/ Check the "professionals" more where that came from
Game one on the road, Monday night football, rookie QB, no OL, clueless Owner, Ass whooping? I'll Take Todd Bowles as HC Alex for 4 million a year.
As a non Bowles supporter it's exactly a performance like this that will back me off the ledge. No panic, nice adjustments and I loved how the team responded once DET tied the game. Well done coach Bowles.
Jets not buying into skeptics' dismal outlook for season APPublished 4:40 p.m. ET July 28, 2017 | Updated 5:41 p.m. ET July 28, 2017 FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) — There has been plenty of chatter about the New York Jets this offseason, and none of it has been particularly positive. They've got a three-man quarterback competition, a revamped roster that's minus lots of familiar faces, and a growing number of skeptics who believe the Jets will have trouble winning a game, let alone contend for a playoff spot.
