Stat Jeff,,,Stinky ,,Fjay or anyone else Is there another HIGH that I don't see or understand ? Is there a High that we are not mentioning up in Canada that will try and merge with The Bermuda High and STOP Florence from moving North and continue to push her West and into the coast ? Someone else told me I am understanding much of all this but the I am not taking into account The High In Canada ,,,thoughts ?

tropicaltidbits.com so much good info..... prepare to waste alot of time. it's almost overwhelming ;)

also the CAT6 blog on weatherunderground.com has some serious weathernerds that contribute good info... theyre more into hurricanes than we are about the JETS. The blog is hosted by a guy who used to fly with the hurricane hunters

ok guys... going to see if I can get a few waves before going to my saturday job (hopefully the hype has people frothing to buy some new surfboards ;))

Now the GFS has Florence making landfall in NC next Thursday night, and then basically not moving for four days. That is a Hurricane Harvey situation.

still time,,,I don't care what anyone says this can still turn North,,I'm not saying it will come all the way up the coast and hit Long Island although that is still a remote possibility Im just saying to think the solutions are correct 5 days away with zero changes and that Florence just continues west and hits SC -------> I'm not on board I think she turns North I have history on my side and a new found Knowledge of "Bermuda Highs" ------ be safe all still a ways to go with this

Looks like Flo is gonna shut down the inshore fishing at least until mid-month if not longer. Off shore is out of the questions probably until October.

    FJF,

What does this mean for Sam Darnold on Sunday? I am taking my knuckleheads to watch Darnold in his first game at Metlife. Stokes asked me to convert them to Jets fans and he guaranteed a winning season for Jets for the next 15 seasons. How does Metlife forecast look for next Sunday?

I know the High is strong and I see the models are locked in like Fjay said and they are saying South of the Boarder or the Outer Banks but I still can't stop thinking of HISTORY. I understand that Florence is more West today then yesterday but time will tell .....and once this storm gains strength as Statjeff mentioned in earlier posts it will want to head North and instead of DUE WEST as it is now. Will that High stay strong and not budge ? Even though the Euro has not budged and has been consistent the GFS has gone back and forth somewhat,,,,,I think just like winter storms or any storm, when have the models had it exact 4 or 5 days out ? Rarely if ever so I think theres time for solutions and outcomes to change . What if the models are depicting what will happen wrong ? Is the High that far west or possibly not where pictured and a little more east ? I say this thing heads Northerly at some point and that South of the Border although right now it looks like the sweet spot , that this could hit more NORTH of there. No matter how you slice it she is gaining strength as I type at will be a Cat 3 or 4 by Thursday. I wish Jay would make an appearance as this storm is headed right for his neighborhood !!!!!! Thoughts ??????

Tough call right now. I’m leaning towards nice weather. Euro has flo spinning out over the Carolinas.gfs has it bouncing off the coast and heading out to sea. Either way works for us.

Every model run and just about every ensemble run agrees at this point on a NC/SC landfall as a major hurricane in four days. The good news is they also all agree that it will weaken very quickly, and not even be a hurricane 24 hours later. The bad news is that many models have it stalling and dumping lots of rain on the area.

Stat Jeff this true. The Euro has been so consistent with each run and been saying that and so have quite a few others ,,,,,The GFS is flip flopping with each run and says NC hit yes but not near SC border but closer to Virginia border. I still think theres time for change in all Model runs as we are 4 days away [IMG]
