Yeah. Hopefully the extra day will help. A normal week you don't even practice until Wednesday, right? So they still have time.
Lions 38-13 i dont see us stopping the lions often. and i think we give up either a score or set up an easy one with a turnover and anohter with special teams play. i think darnold overall will play well but it wont reflect much in the game or stats. something like 18-24 for 255 yards 1 TD and a few trips into the redzone were we dont get in cause of run game/awful play calling our offensive line/lack of skill guys will hurt us. and they will take advantage of a short field and our non exsistant pass rush if darnold gets out of the game halthy, ill consider this a positive game
Looking at Lions forums, a lot of fans are calling this a must win game for them after their horror show preseason.
I can't blame them. I myself mostly consider all week one's as must wins. Better to start ahead rather than behind the curve (during an extremely short season). Especially for these 2018 Jets. Beat Detroit and we have a real shot @ starting off 3-0 before travelling to Jacksonville week 4 and up againt a potential and ''should be' playoff Jaguars team. Detroit is a very big game for our young 2018 Jets team.
I remember it being from right near the goal line. If my memory serves it was the first football season that my current wife experienced with me, we were not together too long at that time and it almost ended that day, especially since we were out in public when I started yelling at the tv. After 20 years she now just lets me do my thing on Sundays.
I'm just hoping for a clean game from Sam. Doesn't have to wow me, but no turnovers and a touchdown or two and I'll be very pleased.
I would watch the replay right now but why bother ?,,,,,I think there were a slew of missed tackles on the way to both your teams losing on that play
@The Waterboy is right. It was 96 yards. Damn you for making me go find that. The memory was starting to blur.
It's a "Should Win" game at least. You are at home, against a rookie QB who took over a (5-11) team, you have Matthew Stafford, should give you the edge. A loss would signal that this might not be a great year. When Chad took over the Jets were (1-4) right? Then were (2-5) and eventually went (9-7) and won the AFC East. So Monday Night is not a must-win, but there are only 16 games, so they all feel like they are.
It's a must win for them strictly because of the division they are in. I see them taking a step (or two) back this year.
The Lions went 9-7 last year and still fired their coach. Harsh. Vegas making us a dog by nearly a touchdown tells you what they think. I guess I shouldn't be surprised. I'm drinking the Darnold kool-aid, so if we can win the turnover battle, stay clean on special teams, our D keeps us close and Sam drives the offense down the field late for 21-19 victory.
I think we are going to be in much better shape having Kearse...we can make it without Marcus Mate. Having Kearse in there as a reliable option for Sam will be pivotal.
Starting off our 2018 season on Monday Night Football?!? I'm loving it. It's only Tuesday but I can not get this theme song out of my head.
