He's making his actual salary, not PS salary.

Just read the Jets are paying him what he would have made on the active roster. Which is to say the team really likes him.

The starting pay for a PS player is $7,600 per week, 17 weeks. Its $129,200 for the season

At least Webb has an arm, if nothing else. Hopefully he can develop enough skills to become a decent backup. The Wolford signing was ridiculous.

And with him being on the PS keeps his salary out of the cap conversation. Smart

Jethro is rolling over in his proverbial ganggreenforum grave after the Jets signed Webb to their cuckold squad.

I think PS squad players salaries are counted toward the cap.

    Wow. Pretty interesting.

How did the Giants fuck this up so badly?

Give Mac all the crap you want. Great signing! This is no risk and potentially rewarding even if he only becomes a backup. Good that Mac is learning that QBs are currency in the NFL.

The question is: Who will be the better QB in 5 years? Darnold or Webb? Hard to know. I mean, Webb is a stud! (From what I have heard)

It comes down to this: who has the better record of evaluating QB's? Giants or Jets?

In the article I read, when asked about why differentiated Lauletta from Webb, Shurmur and Lauletta indicated the same thing -- decision making ability.

This is obviously being used by Macc as a way to have a legitimate third-string QB without taking up a spot on the 53-man roster. They can do this since they have so much cap room (PS players do count against the cap).

I have no particular objection to this, but from what I saw of preseason Webb is not an NFL quarterback, so I doubt that he could save the Jets season if they needed him for a game or two.

This signing makes sense as the Jets like QBs who sit on the bench and never play. ;):D

Kid has great size and also a former 3rd round pick just last year of 2017.

Releasing him after only 1 year is alarming.

    Who knows.

Maybe he's to NYG what Hackenberg was for NYJ?

Davis Webb looked atrocious at times during two of his three preseason games.

    However, I can't complain.

Once down to you're 3rd string QB your season is over to begin with.

  20. Or could it be that Lauletta was drafted under shurmur while Webb was a mcadoo pick?
