Webb looked like garbage in pre-season but wow what an indictment on the Giants front office to blow the #2 pick when Darnold was there for the taking. Someone's head needs to roll for the poor evaluation on Webb. p.s. Thank you Giants for taking a RB and letting the Jets finally find their Franchise QB.
Yeah, the failure of Webb is damaging to the team, but nothing more to do about it. It's the passing up on any of the top QBs in general and Darnold in particular that is going to get the attention if the Giants don't make a deep playoff run in the next year or two because Barkley has made their offense about 50% better (which I certainly don't see happening) that's going to make future heads roll. Of course, if Lauletta turns out to be as good as Darnold, Rosen, Allen, and Jackson then Gettleman will be golden. Given that reports 24 hours ago were that he was shopping both Lauletta and Webb around the league, it doesn't sound like Gettleman is particularly enamored of the guy who just became the backup quarterback, however.
Lauletta is on the market as well. The Giants need to bring in a reliable veteran backup so that if something happens to Eli they have a chance at salvaging the season. They don't if it's Lauletta. Plenty of Giants clowns were yammering that that Webb would end up being better than Darnold. lol Anothe horrible Gettleman signing was Jonathan Stewart. He looks finished
Giants are really in for a rude awakening this year. They are so top heavy. And their schedule is brutal
Hahahahaaaaaaaa Saquon Barkley over a 15 year Pro-Bowl QB. He went to Penn State, not sure you’ve been informed of that. What fucking idiots. Thank you Giants.
I remember a certain someone (Jethro Tull) who mentioned something along the lines of NYC would one day belong to "Davis Webb". Looks like the G-Men and Big Blue just lost a 3rd round draft pick (2017) for absolutely nothing.
http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/davis-webb-vs-sam-darnold.90898/ Lol, if I could bump it I would.
Yea. I like how I posted on the first page of that thread... Sometimes all you can do is laugh and have fun.
They're a win now team trying to give Eli a end to his career like his brother had in Denver. Gettleman knows what he's doing.
The Giants are a better team than the Jets on paper. They drafted a skilled RB that can take it to the house every time he touches the ball. They drafted Will Hernandez who along with Nate Solder are going to do a great job of protecting Eli’s blindside. They have one of the best WR in the league, and they have a two time SB champ at QB. Their defense is going to be top notch if Apple can grow up and Ogletree can play to the level he is capable of. Lael Collins and Janoris Jenkins should also be solid in their secondary. If their top two picks pan out, Gettleman has already drafted two long term impact player for the Giants. Not bad for a first year guy.
15 year pro bowl QB? Let's pump the brakes a little bit here. Sam hasn't played a single regular season game yet, he could very easily be the next big bust. With that said, I really don't understand cutting Webb this soon. Giving up on 3rd round QB pick before even going into his second season? Either they REALLY liked what they saw from Lauletta, or they are making a knee jerk reaction. Who knows, maybe I'm just used to the dumbass Jets clinging on to their 2nd and 3rd round picks for years. Too bad the Jets don't still have Teddy, they could have sent him to the Giants for a better payout than the Saints, and we know their draft pick will be better.
Ok a little time to process this. Hahahahahahaaaa how did the Giants pass on Sam Darnold, a generational talent for a fucking running back and summarily cut their future QB? How? Everyone should get fired for that. But I hope they keep that team in place and run that franchise into the ground.
