I guess we can have this thread locked up as Mack is about to e traded to the Bears,,,,,,,,,,,,will the Jets panic and pull a knee jerk trade for Fowler ?

We keep drafting BPA d-linemen and have nothing to show for it. You’d think they would get a pass rusher first and then look to solidify the d-line but no. You have to wonder why defensive linemen “fell” to us all these years. Maybe other teams know something that we don’t.

Still, I would have felt bittersweet either way. I would have been pumped to get him but upset at how much the Jets had to give up. Now instead I am happy the Jets did not give that much up but obviously bummed Mack is not a Jet.

 

TDK I could not agree with you more but I cannot see how this move could be justified ? I mean if we were contenders here and now , then ok but this team is IMO so far away from that right now and lets see if he signs a long term deal or if he's FA at seasons end.

 

Jets just cut Mauldin and Luvu. Waived Bass yesterday.

I consider myself as die-hard a Jets fan as they come, and I have no idea who is going to play across from Jordan Jenkins.

 

While it would've been a pipe dream to get Mack, I think not giving up the reported 2 first rounders plus is a better option for us at this moment. We are far from a edge rusher away from being a top contender, and we can likely dip into the wealth of edge's in next year draft class.

As predicted, it took two first rounders to get Mack.

Well put.....my exact feelings. Bummed he's not here, but in reality feel we made the rite move to pass on him. making the deal would have been like chewing gum...it tastes great when your chewing it, until you have to go to pay the dentist for cavities it caused.
