You Gold Coast muther fucker you. We used to look longingly at Lattingtown and Oyster Bay from our little 22 foot Grady White out of Hempstead Harbor. Bay Ridge in the Mets summer of 86 was the tits.
Bay Ridge, I was on 15th between Bath and Cropsey. I was home on leave for the 86 series. But how bout the Marlins ...
Why are people concerned about his age? He has at least 4-5 prime years left, which gives us an elite pass rusher for the entirety of Darnold’s rookie deal. That seems perfect to me.
It really is ideal. If he starts to fade after 5 years, release him and use the money for Darnold's second contract.
This is actually a very tough question. I wanna say Mack but at the same time they need to protect their investment in Sam. I think I would actually choose Brick because I would feel safer about how long he would be good for. He was pro bowl level for close to a decade. But can’t go wrong here you’re right. Mack would change the defense immensely and immediately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Question: If somebody told you Jets just acquired Mack, would you be a little concerned that he hasn’t even been on the field yet going into week 1? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not at all. He has been training all off season, it's been well documented. Keeps in peak shape. Would need about a week to learn the terminology. Played both 3-4 and 4-3 packages.
I'd be concerned if I would have to create a custom jersey or if the Jets would print them fast enough for me to get one.
I heard Manish Mehta on the radio earlier talking about trading Marcus Maye along with a 1st and 3rd round pick to Oakland for Mack. I don’t know if the Raiders would go for that deal but if that was on the table I would do it. “No Risk, No Reward” that how I see this whole Mack situation. A premier pash rusher in his prime is something that puts the Jets on the path to being real contenders and winning the Super Bowl.
That's fair. Build a fortress for Sam and when he hits his stride he'll be picking apart defenses on his own. So maybe we won't need a Mack and can get by with a 14-18th ranked D because Darnold is just overwhelming the other team. There are a lot of different formulas to win in the league. We just recently saw the Broncos and Seahawks do it one way, the Packers, Colts, the Steelers, the (barf) Patriots. Some of these were great dominant defenses. Others were kind of just meh
I'll be honest I haven't seen this guy play much. I've read/heard much of what's been said about him but I haven't actually seen it with my own eyes I also don't remember Oakland having a fearsome, shut down defense recently. Because of that I'd be cautiously optimistic if the Jets trade for him. With that said there's no doubt if the Jets make this trade they're going for it.
Khalil Mack makes your entire defense better. The secondary becomes better because quarterbacks have less time to throw. The d-line becomes better because teams would double Mack, etc..
Guys on the national sports radio said it would take him a couple weeks to be in “game shape.”you can still use him on 3rd downs until he’s ready
