I would not want to trade any picks for Mack or Fowler and would much prefer that our GM / Mike Mac could just draft an OLB that could rush the passer but it appears HE CANT ! That said The Raiders Mack is a STUD and arguably one of the best players in football regardless of position . It would be nice to have Mack and we have the cash,,,,but the price would be too high as far as picks.
He would transform our defense from bend but not break to dominant, thereby getting it off the field and putting the ball in Sam’s hands more often. It’s not going to happen but one can dream. Imagine our very own Von Miller level defender.
I’m not sure I follow this logic. If you know our GM can’t draft then why won’t you give up the draft pick for the proven commodity?
Go take a look back at what this team has drafted between rounds 2-7 in the last decade and tell me again you wouldn't trade picks for proven NFL talent.
If you flip a coin enough times, you get a player like Darnold. I love the Russian roulette game we play with draft picks. You have to believe we will hit on a 2nd round pick some time (not counting Maye yet). RIGHT??
Well then no offense, but I'm glad you aren't the Jets' GM. Mack is a great player, but at 27 years of age he isn't worth one #1 pick, much less two of them.
He's not worth 2, on that we can agree, but he's certainly worth 1 and the Raiders are welcome to a third since the team is trash drafting past the first round anyway.
Don't think I cough up two first round picks though, and if that's the ask the Raiders are on fantasy island. I'm thinking they were hoping to see if somebody bit on the ridiculous price - perhaps they will come down with the regular season looming.
