I’d rather resign Q, add some free agents and maybe later round WRs. 1st round is for tackle or edge.
I think we are set at WR as it is. None are game breakers, but all are solid. OL, edge, LB, TE are all bigger needs than WR.
Youve gotta give Sam one impact skill player.WR/TE/RB take your pick but he needs one & until he has one “solid but not elite” is not good enough in today’s NFL. I would put OL/Edge as more pressing needs present time but as this rebuild moves forward finding the skill will be equally as important.
How would this go down? The Jets probably have to have the contract immediately available for him to sign or else he'd be holding out against them. So essentially the Jets already should know what they would pay him??
It’d have to be a sign & trade.Raiders-Jets would agree on draft compensation at which point theyd grant permission for jets-mack’s reps to hammer out a deal.
Right but my question is, they'd have to have the contract already drawn up on their end even before they execute the trade?
I hope so..thatd be a great thing for this team. As it stands i think hes a key part of the future & a solid weapon.Im just not sure hes a focal point of a defensive gameplans or makes enough impact plays week in & week out
It’s going to happen. He hasn’t had to be the number one yet but he would have been last year and I think we were robbed of what was about to be his break out. This year I fully expect to see him have a big season.
1000 yds and 8 TDs for Q. I think hes going to have a strong rapport with Darnold early. He can be that safety blanket for Darnold cause he can work the middle of the field and great at YAC
I hope so but with the injury he had, I'm not going to get my hopes up. I do think he fits Darnold's game well though. Same with Kearse
Q reminds me of a young T.O. from a physical standpoint. Both very strong upper bodies, good hands in traffic, and play at the same speed on the field. This could be Q's breakout year with Darnold. I'm going out on a limb and saying he gets 8 to 10 touchdown receptions this season.
Would you trade a our 2019 1 and one of the thirds for Mack? I'd do it. Knowing we have cap room for next year to address oline and skill positions. I'm not always in favor of trading picks but I think if we are looking at the Seahawks and Eagles plans so we have a four year window. I'd do it. Other part of the question. Maybe throw Leonard Williams in and a third. Probably won't happen but a thought.
If the Jets can find a way to add a couple more picks, than I would be more on board with trading for Mack. I really hate the idea of not having any picks in the top 3 rounds. Just is not a great way to build a team that is still a year away at best. Maybe absorb some bad contracts for some additional picks. Mack is one of my favorite players, but I'd be very reluctant to to throw all of the Jets early picks away.
Do we even know what Darnolds game is yet? He's had some nice moments in the preseason and by all accounts has preformed well in practice but as fans we haven't really experienced anything close to his full scope.
Q looked good against the Giants, hopefully he is past the injury (mentally) cause he has a great skill-set.
fair point, but I was focusing on his collegiate style more than anything. We also know that Bates will run a west coast offense, so we have some idea
