Yea my post wasn’t clear as to what I was trying to say. My point was that If he doesn’t improve the o line with these machinations Darnold is going to end up with David Carr syndrome and Mac’s label of genius isn’t gonna fit so well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not only that but for the fans who mentioned how great of a person Teddy is (all of us) and how much he's been through in order to (attempt) an NFL comeback after a catastrophic knee injury in which damn near amputated his entire leg... To then suggest and even request he be fed to the wolves as a sacrificial lamb or better yet a guinea pig behind this Offensive Line in order to "protect Sam Darnold from potential injuries" is not only hypocritical but also goes to show how much they truly did not care about Teddy Bridgewater (the person) to begin with. I never quite understood nor could grasp that horse-shit for the LIFE OF ME...
you are very hopeful but this line is going to make you hammer your head to the wall. i hate this season
Meh.. Hardly going Koo Koo for Cocoa Puffs over a third and ??? (who knows what for Teddy.)..plus we chip NO a 6th? TEDDY IS AS GOOD as MANY starting QBs injury notwithstanding ...I can think of 4 starting QB in the NFL that are GREAT : Brady Brees Big Ben and A Rogers the rest are more or less on Teddys level ...should have gotten a second for him. Why couldnt Macagnan play a little more hard to get with the Saints because it appears they were making a SB run this year and were MORE hot to trot to get a blue chip back up to Brees than the Jets "needed" to unload tB at the right moment???????..FEH at this deal really New Orleans had this figured out or they would not have dialed Macs number...big win for NOs and of course Teddy and I wish him luck
It was $1 million. His signing bonus was $500k and his guaranteed workout bonus was $500k both paid by the Jets. Still a great exchange. Browns essentially bought a second for $26 million last offseasoff and we're applauded. So $1 million for a third is a great deal.
I stand corrected. I thought the other guaranteed $500k was salary that NO would pick up. So assuming he doesn’t play and doesn’t hit any incentives, what does NO pay him?
Fucking obvious is that you cant come up with a real answer other than this nonsense. Not an absolte statement? WTF does that mean, you cant come up with a solid example so youre cursing and feeling embarraded? LOL, quit now. You are in over your head Green Bay a year ago? Pats with Brady? Jets with Favre? Big Ben more than a few times? You shouldnt be embarrassed for anyone, youre the one without a real clue or a leg to stand on
So Sam won't hold up behind the O line your words "Darnold is laying flat on his back writhing in pain" Yet Teddy , with his slight build and his questionable knee would be fine? Playing Teddy 3-4 games would according to your earlier post, leave him broken and with zero value.
I didn't read any of the thread but I will. On the one hand, I think it's stupid and done too early. On the other hand, I think it's an admission that our OL sucks balls and they wanted to keep Bridgewater's trade value up before he got killed. So Darnold is also gonna get killed, I reckon. I'm really not sure how to feel about this. I'm siding with stupid at the moment.
Brady, Brees, Roethlisberger and Rodgers are the only 4 QB's currently better than Teddy Bridgewater? The likes of Andrew Luck, Russell Wilson, Matt Ryan, Philip Rivers, Carson Wentz, Jared Goff, Derek Carr and Dak Prescott (just to name a few) would all disagree with your assessment. There is no way any one of those QB's would last a (split) second during 2018's previous Free Agency process without first having multiple bidders offering a whole lot more than a 500k signing bonus. I like Teddy a lot. He's an awesome person who's been through a lot and also an above average to pretty good Quarterback and was very good trade bait to utilize but at the end of the day, he's only thrown for 28 TD's and 22 INT's and has not started a single game since dating back to 2015. His one and only career playoff game was the definition of dink and dunk against Seattle going 17/24 (70.83%) but with only 146 passing yards and 0 TD's along with 3 runs for 0 yards and 3 sacks for -21 yards during a 10-9 loss. Great Seattle defense or not he was very Chad Pennington like and his defense did everything they could to give their QB a chance to win the game and advance. I'll take my chances with Sam Darnold + our 3rd round pick. So long Teddy.
Now Sam Darnold is "going to get killed"? Kind of like Ryan Fitzpatrick "got killed" throughout 30 games from 2015-2016 or how an aging 38 year old QB in McCown "got killed" last year? Or how some claimed neither Teddy or Darnold couldn't survive a preseason behind our O-Line? Is our Offensive line all world? No. Does it need upgrades? Yes. But it's not nearly as bad as Buffalo's or nearly as catastrophic as some are making it out to be...
