How was this even a question? The man just traded up from 6th to 3rd overall in order to draft a Franchise caliber signal caller in Sam Darnold ala the highest rated quarterback coming out since Andrew Luck, received a 3rd round draft pick for a player in Teddy Bridgewater in whom he spent pennies on the U.S Dollar for and to top it off he'll have us in position to strike come Free Agency with the league's most amount of available salary cap space of any other NFL team within the entire league; in order to continue building around... Sam Darnold. There is a reason why Maccagnan earned NFL Executive GM of the year back in 2015 and now is a damn deadbolt lock to become a 2x NFL Executive GM of the year here in 2018. Next question please.
Mac isn't winning anything unless the Jets make the playoffs. And this team does not look like a playoff team.
Just wondering, are you just posting stuff like this to bust balls or do you actually think you are providing meaningful substance to these threads? I get that you don't agree with his posts, but I'm curious as to what you feel is inaccurate about the post you just quoted?
did mac win the pro football weekly executive award or something? i must have missed it. congrats in 2015 mac you boring dude
When PhiLLy Stacks starts providing meaningful substance I am sure he will get responses that suit the post. When he is just posting his homerisms with a few facts he grabbed from wikipedia sprinkled in, he gets what he gets. Posters who have been banned 5 and 6 times under different names, only to come back posting the same crap, should be treated as such in my eyes. If you really see any substance to his posts please point it out for me.
The dude is making the board unreadable. Coming from me that’s saying something. @The Waterboy is doing God’s work.
I've been on this board for years, and I don't see his posts unbearable. Maybe it's just me. Either way, my point is, if you don't like someone's posts, that doesn't justify responding to every one of them with a gif, video, or insult. Just ignore them if you don't like them. Just my opinion. I just don't like when threads get derailed with child like nonsense. If you don't like his posts, ignore them and act like they aren't there
The NFL won't award him Executive of the Year this year unless we make the playoffs because they already gave it to him for a non-playoff season. Giving him two awards for two non-playoff seasons when he's 0/4 in making the playoffs as GM would be ridiculous even by the NFL's standards.
I disagree. He won the award in 2015 with a record of 10-6 despite missing the postseason. You don't need a playoff birth to justify honors of an Executive GM of the Year award. A.) Trading away three 2nd round draft picks in order to trade up from 6th to 3rd overall in order to draft the highest rated QB since dating back to Andrew Luck in Sam Darnold... B.) Emphasizing the example to a 'T' of "extremely low risk/potentially high reward" by signing Teddy Bridgewater for pennies on the dollar before trading him for a 3rd round draft pick in return all while being on a 1 year deal... C.) Now has us in position to feature the league's most amount of available salary cap space of any NFL Franchise come the offseason... Is already justifiable enough within it's own right. Not only that (A-C) but also... • Landed us the offseasons #1 Free Agent CB in Trumaine Johnson. • Replaced a productive Demario Davis with Avery Williamson (who was rated as a top an NFL top 5 MLB last year). • Upgraded our Center position with the addition of Spencer Long. • Landed us a physical and violent RB in Isaiah Crowell from Cleveland. • And last but not least he also took a flyer on Terrell Pryor @ WR; which could up paying dividends (77 receptions for 1,007 receiving yards and 4 TD receptions back in only 2016 with CLEVELAND). He's had the best offseason of any GM within the league and it's really not even close. The playoffs would be icing on the cake but as of right now it's his award to lose. And if Darnold wins ROY it's a deadbolt lock.
See my post above. Also if everything goes the way you think it will, we'll make the playoffs, especially since the AFC doesn't look very strong. So Mac can win Executive of the Year again. Alternatively, Darnold will look promising but the rest of the team will be weak and we'll have a losing record, which is what most analysts think will happen. In which case Mac won't win Executive of the Year.
He's going to go down as one of the executives of the decade. Sam Darnold will do for him what Favre did for Ron Wolf and Peyton Manning did for Bill Polian.
I hope you're right. Hey if Darnold's that good maybe Bowles will be a Hall of Fame coach. That would make some heads explode around here.
Any other poster would get the treatment you are requesting. This guy though deserves and probably wants anything he gets thrown at him. We had a whole thread about it. There was some good stuff in there. Bottom line though, he is attention craving troll whore who’s been banned at least 4 times and his posts should be treated as such.
Macc has done plenty to prove his competence as a GM. It's looking more and more likely that 3 out of his 4 1st round picks have panned out extremely well. That's a high rate, especially when you look at our first rounders in the last 2 decades. His middle round picks have been up and down, but that's the case for more teams than not. I'm not gonna kill him on that. He built the 2015 team around a washed up QB that they got for a 7th rounder (he had a franchise record year). He brought in another washed up QB in 2017 who had a career year (for nothing). He flipped a 2nd rounder for Sheldon who had off the field issues and has been up and down. Oh, he also got Jermaine Kearse who has become a solid WR for us. He traded that 2nd rounder + 2 others for our franchise QB and gave up no 1st rounders to do so. And he just flipped a free agent 1M signing into a 3rd round pick. There's some good stuff in there. Who knows what he'll do. Trade for Fowler with that 3rd rounder? Trade a package for the best defensive player in the league? The Jets inquiring to trade for at least 3 pass rushers makes me feel like a move for a pass rusher is imminent. Macc understands the deficiencies of the team even if he's not able to solve it immediately. He's wise with spending money, he doesn't hold back like Idzik, but isn't irresponsible like Tannenbaum.
Are they gonna cry when they get separated due to free agency? That wanting to play together will last till the dollar sign and reality steps in.
With Bowles running the show I'm expecting the same thing as the last 4 years. No playoffs. Playoffs would be progress. Not making them is what? I do expect Darnold to play well.but he will be under constant attack due to the offensive line issues.
