Players don't create "QB controversies"; fans and the media do. No other market does it better than NY. Lastly, why do we need to pray Darnold stay healthy? Did I somehow miss that this was a Super Bowl or bust season? The most important objective this season and probably the next should be Darnold's development. If he gets injured, it hampers that objective regardless if Bridgewater is on this team or not.
I'd say there's a HIGH chance McCown is traded mid to late season if a contender loses their starter. Pit, Jax, Minn, We might be able to win off of two scratch-offs
That's your opinion. To get essentially a starting QB who likely will be your starter next year and going forward to back up your old QB this year? You're damn straight I'd give up more than a 3rd, and I wouldn't be a terrible GM. I'd be a VERY smart one. Getting a proven FQB with a 3rd round pick is nothing short of brilliant.
There’s no guarantee of anything in football; that certainly shouldn’t be a retraction from establishing a pursuing a strategy despite the inherent risk that you may not accomplish it.
Jeez I didn’t even realize that beginning three games was a Monday-Sunday-Thursday. What the hell kind of crap is that?
I disagree. I have seen it with the Jets. Some players wanted one QB, other players wanted another. As far as praying that Darnold stays healthy? That's obvious. At a minimum it could slow/hurt his development, and if it's a serious injury, could affect his career. This season is irrelevant except for developing Darnold and for Chris Johnson to decide if Bowles should go or stay. I also said that because few of us want to see McCown playing again.
I wish Teddy the best in NO unless he faces us. While I wanted Macc to wait until a team was desperate to give up a 2nd rounder, that may have been wishful thinking on my part.
Teddy and a 6th for a third sounds a bit under priced for me but whatever. Teddy wasn’t relevant here so they did right by him getting him somewhere before the season starts, keeps the media down with asking the same question every day and increases our cap space and improves our draft stock for next year. All good things. Now we move forward with the unequivocal starter for the nyj.
What I've noticed is Bridgewater fans were Geno, Petty, and Hack fans..so spare me your QB analasyis..we got a 3rd for a mediocre QB who hasn't played in 2 years.
I would MUCH rather be the Saints in this trade than the Jets. Again I hope Darnold is ready and does not get killed behind this line. IMO the trade should have and could have waited,,,it was inevitable but the timing of this I hate.
