the short version would be " I have man love for Darren Lee and he would be better if we still had Snacks, its not his fault! Now here is 4500 words, at least 20 % of are not true or I just made up, that don't really back up my point but will keep 98% of the board for reading my post."

Good lord. I know there’s been a whole “thing” surrounding him lately and I’ve just ignored it. I should have kept ignoring yet.

When I was going back looking for those tweets I posted a little while ago, I came across a bunch of stuff from last year praising him as a locker room leader. I don’t think there’s any way he gets cut.

The key word in your post is bolded, and that is something the thread originator is not. He's all emotion.

He was on those jets drive video clips, maybe around episode 7 off the top of my head, basically showing him as a leader of defence, so he is very unlikely to be cut imo maybe the same episode but definitely the episode that featured the kid that beat cancer (we had the clips on a tweet a while back) he idolises Darron Lee and there was a lot being made of him also becoming a leader and calling the defence plays next season, somebody certainly thinks Lee has done better than some on this board and has a lot more to come, the episode featured a lot on his talent, could have been episode 6-8 I am too lazy to go and double check them lol

Yeah, but the word never was abbreviated, lol. Too bad everything else can't be abbreviated down to a couple of grunts. I know I ramble aimlessly - a brain thing - and carry on forever sometimes, but Holy Shit. Pretty soon I'll be writing a DefenseWinsChampionships Story, and always remember, all of my stories are true. You know what? Why wait? Pay attention and follow closely!

There was this guy with a hundred different user names on a New York Jets message board. The last one he picked was very telling as even his user name is excruciatingly long and reflective of what may be inferred as a similarly droll real life personality. Wife to DefenseWinsChampionshops: "Honey, don't forget the toilet paper. I put it on the shopping list." DefenseWinsChampionships to wife: "This is not a shopping list. There are only three items on it, and if it's not a dissertation on price comparisons, I'm not wasting gas, believe you me. Don't forget the toilet paper. Look who's talking. This list is meaningless and very vanilla."

Every time I see his user name, a sense of dread comes over me like a pall, as if I'm going to be forced to read the 'Twilight' trilogy by candlelight in a deserted cabin in the middle of Winter without my reading glasses - at gunpoint. The thought of being held by an underground domestic terrorist group who try to make me read droning pablum or worse strikes fear in my heart. They decide on another tactic. They try to make me read 'Fifty Shades of Grey' in an effort to get me to kill myself as they poke me with Glocks, shove one in my hand and say, "READ! OUT LOUD!" There is no heat, no hot water, I only get gruel once a day if I am lucky. But, I don't want to die and they cannot make me pull that trigger.

With each passing day, they continue to try to break me. My captors promise me a box of this if I read, yet still I refuse.

I dig down for my inner Sam Darnold: I am unflappable. I will not read. I begin to lose consciousness, words and fonts swirling before my eyes and hear my name being called in the distance, very much like my coma years before, and my last thought before I pass out is, "Why the F would a diabetic call themselves SugaSmakz?" I wake up on a cold dirt floor what must be hours later. Alone. My captors left, thinking me dead. Or perhaps they respected my resistance? I make my escape. I did not read. So that's my DefenseWinsChampionships Story.

Theres going to be a huge drop off (no where near as bad as OP is making is sound like) when you go from one of the best in the league to a guy who is still above avg. One of the biggest reasons for this drop off last two years though has been the inability of the offense to stay on the field. When a defence is out there for as often as ours has been the run defence will break down.

I think McLendon has done pretty well since he signed with the Jets. Better than I expected.

I said it before, will say it again , but keeping Mo and letting go of Snack was absolutely the wrong move. The so called "keeping our home grown talent" and paying an arm and a leg for Mo was a massive waste.

Not sure the 'keep our home grown talent' applied in this situation, as Snacks was also a homegrown talent.

Wilk had all the physical abilities I'd want in this defense.
Athletic at 315lbs, great height, ridiculously long arms, could 2 gap, 1 gap, line up literally anywhere on the line, stuff the run, make tackles for loss, and pressure the QB.
I really liked Shaun Ellis, and felt Wilk was a more physically gifted version of him.
That type of player should be a 3 down impact player, so I can understand the signing.
The problem was ultimately with the player......he was lazy and unreliable. And unfortunately for us, so was Sheldon.
Was a tough spot for the GM, and ultimately banking on Wilk failed.

I don't feel Snacks has the same ceiling, as he's more of a 2 down guy who doesn't pressure the QB.
However, he is excellent at what he does, and I wish we could've kept him.

Thankfully we at least got Williams, and overall I really like our DL despite losing all that talent.
