I'm only giving two poll choices. One choice is losing record, which means you predict 7 wins or less for the Jets in 2018. The other choice is a winning record, which means you're forecasting 9 or more wins. I won't provide a middle ground 500 record choice. After you voted, predict the final record for the 2018 New York Jets. Make ONE final regular season record prediction and stand by it. Please no if this happens this record or if that happens then this record. One prediction. Then for tiebreaker purposes predict which skill position player (not QB) leads the Jets in touchdowns, and which defender leads the Jets in sacks.
Jets finish 2018 regular season: 9-7 Leads Jets in TD's: Quincy Enunwa Leads Jets in Sacks: Leonard Williams
Losing record. I have a hard time predicting rookie QBs to have winning records. That said it won’t be a total loss and things will look bright going forward.
I'm going 10-6. I feel Sam Darnold as only a rookie will rejuvenate this team and our entire offense. Pryor will add another element, Quincy Enunwa is returning and Robby Anderson is prime for a huge season while Kearse will continue to ball out once returning. Our TE's should provide us with more pass catching options than years past. And our Offensive sleeper is Isaiah Crowell who reminds me of a Marshawn Lynch/Chris Ivory type of Smash-Mouth power back while Powell takes care of business as usual. We've upgraded our Center position and Beachum is returning @ LT. And our Secondary will be so much better with Adams & Maye no longer rookies along with a massive upgrade at CB with Trumaine Johnson as our true #1 and Morris Claiborne going from our #1 to now our #2 along with Skrine going back to Nickel. Shepherd will be a real sleeper on our D-Line while Leonard Williams emerges. Darron Lee will also breakout as a 3rd year player into a household name and Avery Williamson @ IMLB looks to be really, really good. With an improved secondary we'll see then Todd Bowles utilizing his blitz packages (as he once did out in Arizona) and I also like Jeremy Bates as our new offensive coordinator. This 2018 Jets team is going to surprise and win a lot more games than predicted (as they did last year). We'll become a top 5 defense as we did in 2009 and Sam Darnold will be light years ahead of what Mark Sanchez was as a rookie in 09'. 10-6 and the playoffs.
Went with a losing record. Growing pains for Darnold but next year I think is a good chance to return to the playoffs. Lots of cap space to spend $$$ to improve the club around #14 plus another draft as well. This year I say 7-9/8-8.
My vote was 9 & 7 because I feel we could have easily gone 8 & 8 last year. 1) We lost some close games we could have won ala Atlanta etc. 2) We lost some games we should have won ala Miami etc. 3) If McCown finished the year in stead of Petty, we would have had a better chance at wins the last 3 games. 4) Last year we beat 3 playoff teams Jaguars, Chiefs, Bills. 5) we have a better team than last year & I feel our division opponents have somewhat regressed. I feel we have a good chance of going 4 & 2 in our division. So I am optimistically saying 9 & 7.
I'm in the same range. I voted 7-9 adn think we could go 8-8 if things fall right. A couple untimely injuries in the wrong area could see us at 6-10 though as our depth is just not there.
@ Detroit = W. vs Miami = W. @ CLE = W. @ Jax = L. vs Denver = W. vs Indy = W. vs Vikings = L. @ Chicago = W. @ Miami = W. vs BUF = W. vs N.E = L. @ TEN = L. @ BUF = W. vs HOU = W. vs GB = L. @ N.E = L. 10-6. We'll get swept by N.E but still go 4-2 within our own division with sweeps over both Buffalo & Miami.
6-10ish. It's a tough schedule and we have a roster that will need to go through some growing pains. This season is absolutely not about the overall record, it's about seeing a platform to make a tilt in one or two years time. I'm confident we are headed in the right direction and I'm looking forward to the season more than in a long time.
If 8-8 is not an option, I'd saying losing record is more likely. Rookie QB's generally don't hit the ground running unless they have very strong supporting casts and coaching staffs. I don't see that on this team yet. 7-9 with injuries and good/bad breaks being the standard deviation of around 2 games.. If Darnold looks legit, the defense improves, and the CS gets more aggressive, I would still be very encouraged.
Dak Prescott did alright his rookie season. Yes the Cowboys did and still do have a better o-line, but I feel confident in Darnold leading us to 9 wins.
Are you for real? It might possibly be the easiest schedule in the NFL next to the Pats*. (since they get to play us twice)
Loss, Win, Loss, Loss, Win, Loss, Loss, Loss, Loss, Win, Loss, Loss, Win, Loss, Loss, Loss - 4 and 12 but we sweep the Bills. Darnold shows promise, but doesn't do nearly enough to win games. Crowell leads the team in TD. Jordan Jenkins leads in sacks.
