First Rounds of Cuts

I haven’t seen him play but have heard good reports about Robinson’s play

 

Might not see any until the end of pre season. I thought the rules were changed so that teams didn’t have to get to their 53 man roster till week before start of regular season?

 

There are no first round of cuts anymore. There is just one cut day ( a couple days after the last preseason game ) when team have to submit their 53 man roster.

 

Robinson looks like a guy who might make this team. His suspension might make it harder on him but when he gets back he should be competing with Robert's and Jones for the 6th CB spot.

Obviously the CB locks are:
Johnson, Claiborne and Skrines.

Nickerson looked like a lock before his injury but Robinsons suspension should allow him to get back to speed.

The competition now for 5 and 6 are Nickerson. Jones, Roberts and Burris and Burris looks like a goner. The real fight for the last spot does not look to happen until Robinson returns. But Robinson has looked good. His return might mean Jones to the PS or cutting Roberts.

 

Yes. I believe this is correct. (They haven’t shown any “cuts” in Hard Knocks to date as well.)

 

If they are going to cut Stewart they don’t have to cut him till after week 2 because if his suspension. Robinson too. And the same will be true for Donahue if he’s suspended soon.

 

Robinson has actually played pretty well.

 

He paid 4 and 5 th rd picks for Hansen and Stewart. Both are reportedly on the bubble

 

3rd and 4th.

 

1) Robinson looks good in preseason. he could make the roster. the top 3 are locks obviously at CB (johnson, skrine, claiborne) and nickerson being a rookie is probably a lock as well which leaves 2 spots open. If i'm basing it on preseason I'd say jones and robinson have looked the best and we cut burris, clark, and roberts

2) probably gone becuase injuries

3) I don't think they give up on hansen. i also think he looks better then stewart so far who is also suspended for PEDs. The top 4 are locks (Q, robbie, kearse, pryor) I think roberts makes it for KR/PR and we keep both hansen and stewart to make it 7. I think peake gets cut. can't stay healthy

4) he's been horrible he'll be gone

5) same as 3

6) probably gone as well

 

The days of sitting in your dorm room waiting for "the Turk" to come calling are long gone, along with the drama. It would make for a better Hard Knocks if they still did cuts the old way.

 

Yeah, I agree. Plus how much of an impact are the cut players going to be, (even if more physically talented than players on other rosters)?

They have no time to learn the plays/play calling terminology and thus no ability to "gel".

That's one of the challenges for the modern GM. You used to be able to bring guys in after a round of cuts, now you have to wait and hope your scouts and contacts can lead you to a hidden gem or two.

 

Stewart actually finally had a good game vs. Giants. I would be disappointed if they cut Hansen.

 

he had a couple of good catches for sure but when you factor in he doesn't play special teams or do returns plus his whole camp and off season so far I don't think it's enough.
