Pretty cool video here to get an idea of how much more advanced Darnold is at such a young point in his career.

With him likely starting Week 1, this is pretty cool to see:

Saw this being floated around Twitter yesterday. It definitely gives you that feel good feeling inside watching him play. Hopefully it transitions into the regular season.

Little things that many of us miss while watching the game. His game against New York wasn't a Stat filled display, but breakdowns like this show much more growth than many of us realized

Having all the physical tools is nice but pairing that with a high football IQ is what makes top level QBs.

    Still can’t believe it.

    Thank you Giants.

As someone who has been watching this team for 53 years, all of this good stuff about Darnold is making me very nervous. We're Jets fans - everyone knows we don't get nice things!

I was listening to the Bills game yesterday on Buffalo radio and even the Buffalo announcers, regarding Josh Allen, were saying how he was taking too long to move from his 1st read onto his second. Allen never got to a 3rd read, often not even to his second before a sack or a move out of the pocket.

they were trying to be positive in Buffalo, saying that's how rookies are, but after watching Darnold on friday night, I can tell them NO, not all rookies are like that

That's a common thing said when trying to find hope in a rookie. I remember saying the same shit about other rookies we've drafted, "growing pains" or "he'll get better the more time he plays" etc. I have come to the realization that either a guy has it or he doesn't. Darnold has it, from what I see.

  8. When they asked Darnold about the speed of the game he gushed that he loves the narrow hashes that allow him to see the whole field.

Conversely Allen said the speed of the game vs. 1st team D was “eye opening”.

Darnold has the skills that you can't teach besides all the other skills. That's what makes him such an exciting prospect. Thank you Giants! I hope your new running back works out well for you.

Like everyone else I'm thrilled reading this stuff. I know Sam is the man. (Here comes the "but") BUT, the scarred Jets fan part of me says keeps reminding me that the only way we f*ck this up is by playing him early and he gets banged up. I don't see the need for him to start the season. Before camp I was OK with a redshirt year. Now I've relented to the fact that he's more advanced than I expected and that he'll be playing this year, probably very quickly. With two other good options - something we've never had before, it seems to me he should be on the sidelines to take the NFL experience in a little before we're relying on him.

I was all for having him start Game 1 if he showed he was at all ready, and he's shown me more than that, but now I think he should sit until they get better protection for him. I'm not saying they have to get the Seven Blocks of Granite, but I don't want to see the best chance for a FQB in decades ruined because of a swiss cheese OL.

How long until having an erection is abnormal and I should consider seeking medical attention?

Yeah, it gives me the shakes, too. I re-watched the game for the third time, and it really is hard to believe. Darnold is just so THERE.

Oh, and any opportunity to crap on the Maras is always good by me.

About time for them to change it back I think. The poll was overwhelmingly for round.

He has the ability to bring what he learns in the classroom to the field. You can have a High football IQ and not be able to bring it to the field. We struck gold in the 1st round. Moving up 3 spaces was an excellent move. If we would have stayed at 6 the Bills would have surely taken Darnold #3. I've been impressed with how Sam takes what the defense gives him and he doesn't force the throws as is shown it the video. He always seems to be throwing to the open man.:):D I can't wait to stick it to my brother, the Giants fan who thinks the Giants did well by passing on Sam.:p
