Shocking is how good this makes it sound like he was. He had one of the leagues best OL if not the best. He had the leagues best running game with a top back. He had a very good receiving TE he had Edwards, Holmes and a good stable of WRs and he was mediocre at best.

He is progressing. He was brilliant against the Giants last night and got 0 help. 4-5 horrible drops. He was way better than his numbers

  3. Rex said they drafted sanchez to be a game manager..but by 2011 they were changing their tune saying that they wanted Sanchez to elevate his game & those around him. It was a blatant contradiction & frankly just a deflection to the fact that the FO let the whole surrounding cast go to shit & couldnt scout skill

Closer to 60 or 65 times, not 90. HUGE difference. A lot of it was his fault, he was horrible at line calls, identifying the blitz and held the ball at times.

Yeah, it is unusual for the LEAST of an NFL team's worries to be a 21 year old starting QB. That seemed to be the case last night for the Jets though.

Of course not, I understood what you meant. I’m just having fun, it’s preseason, I’m not going to get crazy about the Jets, there will be plenty of time for that during the season.

Last year the jets were competitive in a lot of their games, they were a good QB away from winning 8 games.

I don’t think this line is going to be the worst in the league, once they start playing together and chemistry developes you will see better protection and running lanes.

Give them at least four games with their new center, if they are still struggling after four games then we can start talking about accountability with FO.

Actually start with glasses. You want to believe that he looked nervous thats fine. I dont agree. Not getting where it would take green glasses but take the ones out of wherever the ones your used to look at Sanchez are stored LOL

Again you need to learn the difference between the first two years and after that. Edwards was gone moore was playing like trash Keller had the knee injury and was already gone off the roster the next year if you think shonne greene was a top hb your an idoit and should delete your account. Our oline ranked 20th that year and even worse the following year. I swear sanchez haters will only remember the first two years and think it lasted all 4.

I actually wear glasses and ive already re watched the game this morning. Maybe you should. He was 100% deffinitly nervous and missed more then a few open recievers because he was to busy checking over his shoulder.

Strip sacks that turned into fumbles? That would be recorded as a sack and a fumble

If the werent then it doesnt make a difference as the number is relative to what is or isnt a lot of sacks. So go on and do whatever youre doing all day, its still wrong. While youre at it, 25 or so strip sacks in 2 seasons? LOL, OK

Its early but I can't remember the last Jets QB that had this much awareness in terms of pressure and pocket presence.

A point worth making. Darnold just turned 21, which means not only is he not fully developed as a QB, he isn't fully developed as a man either. In other words, his arm can still get stronger.

Yes it was. This has been well documented by statistics. Sanchez took sacks at twice the rate when pressured that other QBs did. Because he could not handle pressure. He panicked, gave up on plays, often would curl up and take a sack for no reason or run blindly into pressure that was not there. There is a reason why Sanchez was the all time leader in fumbles per game after his first 4 years and that is because he too scared to play tackle football.

Edit: In case you doubt my comments I j ust doing a quick search I found this article which ranked him last in the league under pressure with a sack rate of 24%. It is remarkable the links still work after 8 years.

Darnold has progressed and coalesced with his teammates. Can you smell what the Hammer is cooking?!

Wierd this wasnt an issue his first two years yet it doubled his last two years and Yup that had zero to do with the amount of sacks he took at a young age smh When you have a half witted QB who is clearly nothign more than a game manager YOU HAVE TO protect him. Jets did not do this nor did they make a real effort to try .

The Jets did nothing but protect him his first 2 years. They greatly limited his throwing under pressure. Rarely was he asked to throw on third down or under pressure because when he did horrible things happened. I doubt any QB has ever had it easier and better than Sanchez did his 1st 2 years. The best defense, best running game, best OL, defenses playing 8 to 9 in the box daring him to throw, only throwing when teams do not expect it normally just play action or 1st down. No Qb ever had it easier or threw into easier situations and he was still terrible, still fumbled at an alarming rate and still caved under any pressure. The reason the Jets limited his exposure the first two years is obvious, because he could not handle pressure. When they put him in more normal passing situations that most QBS have to face in 2011 and 2012 he was exposed for what he was.

One also has to remember in 2010 that he had 10 fumbles and led the league with 15 dropped INTs. 6 more the 2nd highest QB Manning. He was still the same turnover machine in 09 and 10 that he was in 11 and 12. Arguably he improved in 11 and 12.

He threw just as much in his 2nd year as he did his 3rd and 4th yet 3rd and 4th was far worse with far less weapons and a much worse oline. this is facts not opinion.

    here is a quick reference
