I’m not quite sure I understand why, but I also think it could be a nice signing. Right now we have three guys in Powell, Cannon, and West who have pretty much the same skill set with Powell being a little bit more of a true running back. That’s not even including McGuire who will be back eventually. All that being said, West is a good past catcher out of the backfield and I can easily see him being a part of the offense if he sticks around. I guess the question is who are we getting rid of?
Running backs are nicked up. Could just be game 4 carries or could it be McGuire not progressing health wise?
I would assume that they carry West until Mcguire is back but honestly, I don’t think there’s a guarantee Mcguire is back. Does West return punts? I could easily see him replacing Cannon as that 3 back, unfortunately.
Cannon has missed some time here & there maybe whatever hea dealing w is gonna keep him out for awhile. Also think Rawles is gone
sounds like a body. powell and crowell need rest and crowell is nicked up and likely won't play again in preseason. cannon is hurt too and maguire is out a few months. right now we just have powell, atkinson, and rawls and powell will likely rest and rawls has been bad so this allows us to use west and atkinson for the rest of the preseason but i doubt either makes the final cut. I assume it's going to be cannon, powell, and crowell and maguire on short term IR
Rawls is horrendous. It’s like our goal is to compile a group of RBs that you always want to roster but never want to start in fantasy. He’s been more of a fantasy nag than anything. He made every Spencer Ware owner miserable two years ago and by the end of last season, Hunt owners hated him too.
not a horrible signing for now until someone else shakes free,,,,My thinking and Im no doctor but I think Mcguire will be gone for a while,,I mean foot surgery and no weight bearing for 4 to 6 weeks ? Im leaning towards 4 to 6 months but what do I know.
Why not just give Rawls the game 4 carries? I think signing West is more than playing him against the Eagles and that's that.
Rawls, Atkinson, Cannon should get all the game 4 carries. We aren't short on bodies, that's for sure. I agree, this is more than just a game 4 signing. I think West could play a role in this offense for sure. He's only 27 too with a somewhat established career.
It's good to bring a guy at this time of year while everyone's still fighting for their job. Better comparisons. Plus, it's probably our first Charcandrick.
cannon is dinged up and rawls is garbage and not making the team so really atkinson is the only one they are looking at probable and he looks good but we are log jammed at RB right now and only have 2 avilable this saturday in atkinson and rawls
You mean tonight? We have Powell, Crowell, Rawls, Atkinson. If you meant next week... I'd assume Cannon would be back. Crowell and Powell probably don't play. That means Rawls, Atkinson and Cannon. That's fine for week 4.
