Yeah, one of my best friends (and his family) live on the North Shore of Oahu. Granted that may be one of the safer places to be (aside from Kaui) but I'm still a little concerned.

GFS and HRWF models have a DOOM scenario, while the Euro is showing a miss, and I think that's why the NWS forecast splits them

At least they live halfway up a hill a block from the beach, so their flooding potential will not be as bad as others. Getting around the island after the fact though....

Yeah. They are at the Grand Wailea, which coincidentally is where we are going. I’m praying for them.

Would welcome it now with this searing heat. Summer is fine but when it gets north of 85 it's annoying.

One more day of the oppressive heat and then it breaks with some thunder storms on Thursday . Cooler but a bit unstable for the weekend. I’d do the bbq on Sunday and Monday and leave Saturday open.

I detest the Summer. I mean as in really hate it. It's miserable. Nothing redeeming about it. Bring on the Fall, please. Foliage, crisp air, apple cider, plum jam, pie, comfort food, great hiking. This? See ya, it sucks.

I am not a big fan of summer either. Hot, humid, thunderstorms( this year especially). Fall and Spring are the best. Fall because of football and temps cool off. Spring because I can put the snow blower away as temps warm up. Although the last two years March was the real pain in the ass and not Jan, Feb.

GFS is calling that to reach Cat 3 status and cruise around the atlantic for awhile.... the EURO is saying Cat 1, but calling for two more storms following.
Also a strong potential for something in the Gulf next week
I'll prob work all weekend to free up my schedule in case the surf is pumping.... I have THREE project deadlines that fall in one week (when swells from Florence should arrive ) :(

Looks like it may be a washout here anyway
