It seems like Francesa hasn't bashed the Jets during the Bowles/Macc era as often as he did during the Rex/Tanny+Idzik era.
Great thread Brook! I'm listening to the Todd Bowles interview now but also see (outside of Bowles/Darnold) that he had interviews with Jermaine Kearse, Leonard Williams, Marcus Maye & GM Mike Maccagnan as well.
From day one, I always felt Bowles got a VLT for his interviews deadpan or not..unfortunately when he says " it's not who you want but what you do with what you have" is still a big learning curve in the coaching department for him Francesca asked him about last year...wow of course Bowles hated losing but my goodness it got us the high draft pick
Because Rex set himself up for it with his audacious and borderline insane comments. Bowles and Mac are much quieter and it is a breath of fresh air.
One thing that I must say has changed, for the better, under this new regime is the team culture. For the first time, in a very long time, we are not dysfunctional in the locker room with a lot of extra drama. For the most part, the players have been supporting each other, there are a lot less selfish people in the organization and leadership seems to be making decisions that are in the best interest of the team winning....not just selling tickets (i.e. Favre, Tebow, Revis 2.0 (Woody decision). We are professional with the media, but not giving them soundbites.
This is very important for Darnold's development. Having a cooperative team around him without infighting facilitates growth within a system.
hopefully, trading away future assets, err, draft picks , for short term fixes has vanished from management thinking. tanny has not exactly made the fins into a playoff powerhouse with that stuff in miami. here, those two years in the afc cchampionship chase were built on guys that mangini picked .
