I'm not a Michigan supporter at all. I'm not saying Florida doesn't deserve a shot, they certainly do. All i'm saying is Michigan has the 3rd hardest schedule, and lost to the #1 team in the country by 3 points in Columbus. And on a neutral site, I think Michigan would win. I'm just saying the 1 point win against South Carolina on 3 missed FGs is going to hurt Florida and keep them from playing OSU.
because they played better this season. No one on either side of the argument can really give "a good reason." The main argument from people saying Florida should be in is that they don't want a rematch, Michigan had their shot, yadda yadda. Which is a terrible reason.
And Florida had the toughest schedule, won their conference, and I think Michigan will choke like a dog like they always do and lose if they played Florida on a neutral field, I fail to see the people's point who want UM in
I can't. But if Ohio State loses to Florida, how can you say with a straight face that Florida is the national champ? I can't.
I want facts, Florida had a better season because they won their conference which is miles away better than the Big Ten this year, I have not once said anything about a rematch excuse, but no one is debunking the fact that Florida road was much tougher than Mich, and maybe, just maybe that is a reason why their wins weren't as pretty
I can, they beat a team that won the Big Ten, and won their conference, Mich is the second place team of the Big Ten
MSUJet85 I call bias! Just kidding man...Look Florida is very deserving. I'm just saying the South Carolina game messes them up and they lose out by thousandths of a point. Right now Michigan is at .922 while Florida is .890. I think Florida jumps to .919 or .920. It'll be that close.
but in the current system, you can't really anoint anyone as the true national champ. If Ohio State wins, I will acknowledge they are the champ. It'd be hard to form an argument against it. If Florida wins? I won't. Simple as that.
simple. that would mean by default Florida is better than Ohio State, which has already proven to be better than Michigan. unless there is another one loss team that you think is better than Florida (Louisville is the only team I can think of you can even make a semblance of an argument for), than Florida has to be considered the number one team. it isn't a perfect system, but you have to at least deduce that order. but if Michigan beats Ohio State, you can't deduce any type of logical order at all. and if Ohio State simply beats Michigan again, it does leave the possibility open that maybe Florida may have beaten them. Ohio State would be the undeniable and deserved National Champ without a doubt, but beating Michigan a second time doesn't in any form settle whether there may be a team that is better than them. we already know they are better than Michigan, I think simple logic dictates that we find out if there is another team that may be better than Ohio State. a Michigan/Ohio State rematch does not accomplish that, regardless of whether Michigan is the second best team or not.
Florida won in the SEC. Michigan had an easier road and lost to Ohio State already. There's nothing but opinion that can say Michigan is better than Florida. I hate the Gators, but they deserve the bid. I hope Glendale falls into a black hole during that game.
