I saw somewhere last night that he was being checked for the concussion protocol, but haven't seen or heard anything else.
Saw somewhere (can't remember where) that's he was confirmed with a concussion. So annoying in a preseason game.
^Yeah, NY Post. That is one play that I did see, and he did look a little wobbly walking off the field after he took his helmet off. This will never cease to freak me out: Brain trauma ain't no joke (survived a coma and cheated death/should be dead/I'm a goddamn marvel of modern science/infectious disease doctor and everyone else in the medical field can't explain how or why I lived and emerged only slightly more retarded than before).
Concussion. What can you do. It was a brutal collision near the red zone Doubt we see him in any pre season games. Should be fine to start week 1 in a month
This is not good. Jets don't have anyone else to get the tough yards. Powell's an all-purpose back, the skinny-ass speedster Cannon was taking too many runs inside last night in the 2nd half and Atkinson is a camp body (Rawls has been zilch).
Crowell is ferocious- like a smaller Ivory On that play I was like get the score but then after I saw the collision I was like damn maybe he should have not cut upfield and just taken it OB since it’s pre season. Old school football in today’s game is a risk Gotta know when to save your bullets But of course I love the heart and you can’t teach people to be weak - he only knows 1 way to play- all out Hope he lasts all season
The Post's headline said he suffered a concussion but there was nothing in the article that actually confirmed it. All it said is that he was being tested and that Bowles didn't have any additional info. Any other sources confirming the extent of the injury? Edit: the headline actually just says "head injury" now.
Imagine having Rosen here instead of Sam? We would have more than just Crowell to worry about concussions Seriously..wasnt the NFL doing something about upgrading the helmets??
#Jets TE Chris Herndon was banged up near the end of Wednesday's practice. Saw him flexing his knee, but I'm told it's nothing too serious. Todd Bowles called it a bruise. I'd expect he'd practice in some capacity this week. Jets know what they have in him. He's their best TE
Why did he dive for the goal line like that? It was just a preseason game dude don’t go concussing yourself for no reason like that.
He was definitely wobbly his first couple steps when he got up. It was pretty obvious he was concussed.
Brave as a lion but ultimately stupid in the long term, I guess he was all out to prove he can be or will be our number one back come week one, I hope he is ready to rock and roll and doesn't suffer any after effects the first time he gets another knock. He is probably lucky not to have really damaged his neck.
It's just the nature in which he plays football. Comes natural to him. His violent style of run is a spitting image clone of a Chris Ivory and one of my All-Time favorites Marshawn Lynch. Built very similar to both as well and @ 5'11/225 he's a battering ram. Can't wait to see him in Greene and White come the regular season an especially come late November and into December i haven't been this excited for a Jets RB since Thomas Jones (L.T I knew he was aging over night). There is no good news with head trauma i wish him well during his recovery because he's still young at the age of only 25 and has never once been seriously hurt on an NFL field before ala he's played in all 64 games throughout his 4 NFL seasons and has only dealt with minor dings back in 2014 and 2015. The last time he missed a football game was back in 2012, college days (2 games with an ankle sprain). The Bilal Powell days were nice and although he can still play at a high level of play believe it or not but Powell is now 29 years of age and soon turning 30 years old (two months away). At the age of only 25 and no longer having to split carries with Duke Johnson I can envision Crowell rushing for over 1200 yards (75 per gm) as a Smash-Mouth runner and shining as a 1st year Jet. Especially if we're to support Darnold as a rookie with a featured rushing attack, Crowell then becomes a household name. With the likes of either Darnold or Bridgewater under Center and playmakers everywhere in Robby, Kearse, Quincy & Pryor... it's going to become damn near physically impossible for a defense to stop Isaiah Crowell. Too many players now arounDd him; dude has ran for damn near 2,000 yards over the past two years while with the Cleveland Browns (1,800+). He's the real deal.
I wouldn't say that he's a smaller Ivory. If anything he's a bigger version of Marshawn Lynch (5'11 / 215 lbs). C. Ivory: 6'0 - 223 lbs Crowell: 5'11 - 225 lbs. 1 inch shorter, two pounds heavier. I'd say same exact size/build. Nonetheless nice post and all 3 backs do play with the same style of violent football. I don't think you can change it neither. It's what makes them who they are and hopefully not who they become long term (mentally/health/brain).
Sealy beds are located just outside my home city, in a small town called Aspatria, I didn't realise they had a name in the US, very odd to see you name them tbh
That was a rough play. But i won’t complain. That was two guys going at each other. Not some cheap shot cowardly garbage. Bad luck. I hope everyone’s ok.
Why didn't Pennington slide instead of taking a header vs. Buffalo? Questions, questions; but it took about 10 years off of my life span, I can tell you that. What was this about again?
