Watched the game last night 6-9 WF. I lost count of the amount of end around and reverse end around plays , just horrible to watch , I think GT just got bored of the whole thing. Thats now how football should be played. GT were much the better team and should have won. I just hope that after this season WF sinks without trace.
Whoda thought FSU, Miami, and VaTech wouldn't win the ACC? Much less Wake winning...Congrats to Jim Grobe.
I agree Wake sucks, but GT ain't that much better. Their defense is awesome, but who knows what Reggie Ball is going to do. Best case, he keeps you in the game, worst case he loses it for you. He will never win you a game.
Good, I can say this in a pro sports forum without getting lectured by militant Pollyanna posters. Reggie Ball freaking sucks and so does the coaching staff on offense. What brand of stupid OC calls for an end around on 3rd and 1 when you have RB Tashard Choice carrying the offense by pounding it up the middle for the second week in a row? Instead of relying on the run game that has been keeping the team afloat against Georgia and WF, let's just make Reggie's musket arm throw the deep ball every time on 1st down. Idiots. It's pathetic that GT can't win when they hold the other team to zero touchdowns. There have been a few quotes and some rumors swirling around since Saturday evening that suggest that the defensive players have given up on the offense. Not that GT would have had any chance against Louisville in the Orange Bowl, but it pisses me off that Tech fans have had to put up with such incompetence on the offensive side of the ball for the last five years. The passing offense has always been atrocious under Chan Gailey, which is a total mystery when you have a guy like Calvin Johnson whose talents are being wasted on this team.
Tech needs to fire Gailey and promote Tenuta (sp?) Plus getting rid of Ball will help almost as much as losing Johnson will hurt.
It was a weird game. Also, there's a side story I saw on ESPN regarding WF's #5 (not sure of his name, I caught the piece late) wherein is brother's now wearing his jersey and they all hold "five" in the air for the start of the fourth quarter. From that standpoint, they're an interesting story.
As much as it will hurt losing Calvin Johnson, losing Reggie Ball will be a net gain for the offense. Reggie's vortex of suckitude exceeds Calvin Johnson's aura of awesome. Then again, the other train of thought which I also happen to agree with is that the coaching is the problem. Patrick Nix is an idiot who can't build an offense around his QB's strengths (okay, Reggie doesn't really have any strengths when his legs are shot), but Gailey has been the captain of this ship for far too long and he sure didn't do anything to impress in Dallas or Miami either.
