McLendon blew his top the other day and screamed at the defense for playing sloppy and without passion. He gathered them together and unleashed a cuss filled tirade. I like that kind of fire. It's good to know there's a vet that will rip guys a new one if he thinks they're slacking. You can make mistakes, that's what camp is for, to learn; just don't be a slouch. I'm with that guy. https://nypost.com/2018/08/02/jets-veteran-rips-teammates-for-practicing-lethargically/
awesome. good for Mclendon. I'm also glad to hear it came from him. Coaches can rip the players up and down for that kind of stuff and sometimes it goes in one ear and out the other. But when its a fellow player, a respected vet, it tends to stick a little better. good for him
Not sure if this was posted already, but I thought it might be helpful to have something up here to help folks follow along. I can't believe the first pre-season game at The New Dump is only 8 days away. Training camp schedule: https://jetswire.usatoday.com/2018/07/24/everything-fans-need-to-know-jets-training-camp-2018/
I think Carpenter was trying to account for the other defenders coming from that left side. Johnson didn't touch anyone on the play actually, just let them through the A-Gap, it was almost as if Carpenter tried forcing them into Johnson's direction. Big time lack of effort as they both ended up whiffing. A-Gap pressures killed the Jets all season long.
Yeah, I read something ridiculous that he threw 7 INTS in 6 practices. It was something stupid bad like that. I obviously have a vested interest in seeing Josh Allen play like ca-ca because the Bills are in our division, and ditto Mayfield because we play them and it's an AFC match up, but other than that, I really don't care about Mahomes or Rosen or anyone else all that much. Can't worry about it. All I'm really worried about is if Darnold is what we've all been waiting for since the Pleistocene Era.
yeah ur right that's on them both. what a lazy play from johnson. watching it during the game I missed his effort or lack thereof and put the blame on Carpenter. Hopefully this new center is an improvement
You’re usage and mine differ then. Yours seems to be head to head games on the schedule. While mine factors in just being in the AFC, even without playing head to head, having tie breaker implications.
Ah, gotcha. Clear as crystal now. I was just wasn't putting the cart before the horse and thinking that far ahead for 2018, lol.
I actually wouldn't mind Josh Allen turning into a capable starter. It would be good for the division and for the competition in general to have a nice in division rivalry between Darnold and Allen. That will push Sam to be that much better.
What? I don't agree at all. I want every QB in the AFCE to fail except #14. My feeling is that Sam won't sit back and glide if everyone else sucks, but maybe that's just me. It's not like any of us have any real inside skinny here, just talking Occam's razor based on what little we all know. If Allen turns into a major dog, I can't say my eyes will well or that it will prevent Darnold from being hungry.
