I think the logo on this helmet is great because it sorta incorporates the 2 logos in one , so it keeps tradition yet its it’s own unique design . I can understand the debate with the size of the logo , but that’s a personal opinion... but this logo is the best I’ve seen so far imo . Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Gotta disagree with you on the gold. I don't want the team looking like Baylor or Notre Dame when they wear kelly green. Stick to green and white.
This is a best of both worlds type of idea. You have the green helmet people satisfied and the keep the old school logo satisfied I'd like to see this with a bright white facemask. I think that's definitely coming.
i fell in love with the jets in the early 80s and their green and white unis. the helmet logo was a HUGE thing for me as a kid becoming a fan. it was so much cooler than the boring ass giants helmet and their dark blue helmet and far lighter color jerseys. iirc the jets were named because of their proximity to laguardia and the planes flying over constantly. and they were kelly green because that was the color of the logos for hess fuels which leon hess owned? we dont play near the airport and leon is dead and has been for almost 20 years. i dont think we are really even tied to either of those things at this point. I love the kelly green and white, but lets face some facts that were explained to me by a photographer who was fancy enough to convince me that green is not a primary color, its an accent color and should be used as such.
I once had a photography teacher argue with me that green was a primary color, but you are correct. Plus he was a pedophile. Green, it's not the color this team needs. I think they should steal colors. Maybe black from the Steelers, silver from the Patriots and keep green but steal it from the Packers. Then wear blue underwear to say fuck you too the Cowboys.
IMO it doesn't matter that green isn't a primary color. It's an earth color. Screw the photographer's fancy opinion. Black isn't a primary color, either. How boring would the world be if we only used the primary colors for everything. I will say that the fact that the Kelly green was tied to old man Hess is enough to almost make me want to change uniform colors, but not enough. I loved those kelly green Jets unis with the sleek jet in the Jets logo.
Tick Tock cycle is upon us Change the uniforms because clearly the uniforms are the main reason why we suck. Snowflakes
The football shape in the logo represents the only real time of success for the franchise. It's history - you may choose to call it dumb but a lot of people like tradition. Certainly baseball teams have used bats, balls and gloves in their logos, basketball teams have used basketballs and hockey teams have used hockey sticks and pucks. Are they all dumb? The warlike undertones of depicting a military aircraft could prove to be divisive and while a fighter jet would present a more aggressive stance for a team playing an aggressive sport I believe they will shy away from anything that could promote divisiveness among fans and sponsors.
Don't know how that would be worked into the design - I've always kind of liked the numbers on the sleeves rather than the tops of the shoulders. I can't really think of another team that has the numbers on the sleeves right now but there's probably a couple.
I feel like there will be leaks before April ‘19 because they have to file updates with the league. This is what LA did not do and consequently they have the uniform SNAFU.
Phil Knight, founder of Nike (whose headquarters in Oregon) is an OU alumn Its prob not 100% gratis but theyre definitely not paying going rate
As much as I liked that uniform, been there done that. Can't come up with a single reason they would take the opportunity to start their 60th season by going backwards. That's not the fresh start or the change that they're obviously looking for
Not bad. I don’t hate it. I prefer single stripe on pants/ helmet. Also the numbers look the same as now. They need a new take.
Oh, so it's just OU that is getting a steep discount. Sorry, I thought you meant that Nike was footing the bill for all college teams uni designs and unis.
I like these. I like the way the stripes on the helmet and the sleeve color tapers in at the shoulder level and is similar to the jet in the logo. The numbers are on the sleeves too. I like the two stripes, but guess I'd be OK with just one. These unis have a fresh, updated look, are stylish, yet are classy and not too fussy. Best of all, there's no football logo.
