Wait, so your telling me Idzik did a poor job? Damn, I would've never thought of that what with the billboards and him getting axed after two seasons. Who knew?

It's this kind of cutting edge, laugh in the face of death, live on the razor's edge analysis that really sets this board apart.

Well said. At least we got Enunwa out of it but we could've gotten another quality guy

Really just goes to show how overmatched and clueless Idzik was. All around dolt with an overbite

Cooks was the obvious choice. And we went with useless Calvin Pryor who looked like he never played safety in his life

fwiw I thought Amaro was going to be a good pass catching TE and liked the choice at the time, but he dropped everything and just never had the heart or drive to play in the league. But when we drafted him I thought he would be a steady guy who catches between 50-70 balls a year and is a security blanket for a QB for a decade

Not too long after Jarvis Landry, Carlos Hyde, Davante Adams, Jeremy Hill, Allen Robinson all fly off the board.

Or Darnold could be a bust and we can say its because of Idziks 2014 draft.

Na. I get the picture but I can't agree. Darnold does have some pass catching WR options in place. All under 30 in Robby, Enunwa, Kearse & Pryor. Hansen & ArDarius as prospects. No Randy Moss or Jerry Rice but nonetheless more weapons at WR than the likes of Sanchez during his rookie season. Macc has at least done a decent job revamping a WR room that was left in bad hands (future wise) from Idzik.

If Darnold flops it won't be because of lack of WR's due to Idzik. If anything Macc & Bowles have been building up this ship for a while now. Sam Darnold is a reminder of a new regime. It's up to Darnold himself to improve. It's up to our FO to improve the team around him.

Idzik/Tanny & Ryan are dead to me. A thing of the past. 2009 & 2010 were awesome with Sanchez. But come 2011 & beyond, that Front Office stopped adding WR talent, and that was the end of a mini run.

I hate Idzik almost as much as I hate Bowles.

    But hindsight is 20/20

If you’re gonna post here, quote your 2014 order please

And trust me, I’m not defending Idzik as much as I am mocking the armchair douchebags.

skins are pretty dumb. plus the numbers are a little inflated

8 mil a year total for 5 years

8 mil a year is bottom tier number 1 WR money. same as stills and wilson of the fins

there is also a 3 year out as it's heavily backloaded (16 mil in salary the last 2 years compared to 14 mil for the 1st 3 seasons)

likely he only gets the 1st 3 years so it's more like a 3 year 24 mil deal or he'll restructure after that.

he's been in the NFL 4 seasons. he's played 47 games, started 19 games and has a total of 1300 yards and 8TDs he's nothing more then a depth WR3 or 4 at best

Herman Edwards was a bad clock manager.

    Odell Beckham.
    Mike Evans.
    Jarvis Landry.
    Brandin Cooks.
    Sammy Watkins.

Those top 5 mentioned above, imo, are the cream of the crop WR's from 2014's draft class.
    _________________________________

    Davante Adams.
    Jordan Matthews.
    Allen Robinson.
    Allen Hurns (undrafted).
    Kelvin Benjamin.

These next 5 listed above, imo, are the 2nd tier WR's of that 2014 draft class. And a very good group of receivers at that.
    _________________________________

    Martavis Bryant.
    Marqise Lee.
    Donte Moncrief.

Those next 3, imo, are the 3rd tier group of receivers from 2014's draft class. A really solid trio as well.
    _________________________________

    Paul Richardson.
    Quincy Enunwa.

These two, imo, round out the 2014 WR draft class as the lower tier of them all; but yet still full of potential moving forward.

I'm pretty sure I forgot to mention a WR or two. Maybe even more.

But within the grand scheme of things, from top to bottom; it could be a very long time before we see another class of WR's that were as good as 2014's coming out.

Watkins is two years removed from his good season, he's been inconsistent, if not good since 2015.

Tier 1 (stars with stats to boot, huge impact)
    ODB
    Mike Evans
    Cooks
    Landry

Tier 2 (on the cusp of being #1)
    Allen Robinson
    Davante Adams

Tier 3 (inconsistent but good WR's)
    Sammy Watkins
    Allen Hurns
    Jordan Matthews
    Kelvin Benjamin
    Marquise Lee

Tier 4 (injuries or not enough chances to become big time impact guys)
    Martavis Bryant
    Donte Moncrief
    Paul Richardson
    Quincy Enunwa

I like this list better then the one you replied to but i'd say matthews is way overrated on that list. he's below tier 4 players like bryant and moncrief and Q. Richardson isn't even tier 4. I'd also consider robinson tier 1 he's better then cooks the injury last year just made people forget.

I’m watching the CFL on ESPN2 because Manziel is making his debut...

First pass play of the game “and it’s CAUGHT by Jalen Saunders!” and I broke out hysterically laughing
