Ironically I’m in Ireland, but I love the Irish motif here. Satin gold helmet, green stripe. What if they used something along this line for logo?
My personal theory is that a fighter jet or bomber with its warlike undertones, while probably acceptable to avid fans, would create some repercussions the team would not want to deal with. I expect a uniform largely based on the Super Bowl classic. The logo will always contain the football shape in one way or another.
yes, but you make the middle one slim enough so that each side looks the same. you can use one emblem on both sides of helmet. pointed the same direction, and looking exactly the same. the irish/ notre dame/army type theme would be much better and classier than the green colts/ eagles copycat stuff we have used until now.
I really don't think it will be a crazy upgrade or change like you guys are considering. It will be an 80's jersey upgrade or something similar to that. I don't think they will be too different from the past. The color scheme will be green and white. Anything else would surprise me.
if they really want to change the culture, then make radical changes. look at the pats current unis compared to the old/classic ones. the winning culture came after the unis were completely over hauled and modernized. save the old jets unis/colors for retro games only.
The Pats winning culture came with those two cheating fucks Brady and Belli. The Flying Elvis logo and shit unis had NOTHING to do with it.
i don't dispute the cheating aspect, but their new unis are light years better than the old ones. bob kraft has a much better cash flow upon junking the old unis.
Change the culture. With laundry lol. Sam Darnold is going to change the culture. If Leggett becomes Gronk and Herndon becomes a less murderous version of Hernandez and Robbie stops imitating Moss off the field and Shepard becomes Kris Jenkins and Adams becomes Polomalu etc THAT will change the “culture”. Not some slapdick flashy uniforms.
You understand there is a salary cap in football so cash flow doesn’t matter and the Johnson's are billionaires in their own right so they aren’t short on cash. Cash flow and flashy uniforms don’t produce winning. The GB Packers are owned by the public and their uniforms are as old as dirt. Their winning culture came back when they found Favre....then Rodgers.
I will wait to see how the jerseys look, but I hope they are not too different. The Jets are the Jets. 1963-2018 they have had a similar look. I think it will continue in 2019.
I made a comment, all teams dont use literal logos to depict the team or area. Yes, a Cowboy could be used or a giant. No one said the had to though. Used it because we dont have to have a Jet in out logo. The one everyone knows doesnt. Its not a big deal to me either way as long as it looks good. But I also am quite aware that none of this is right or wrong. That whether I like a logo or you do will be a personal preference and no one is wrong. Too many get worked up over this shit as if theyre right and other are stupid. The only thing I find crazy in all of this is that there are some totally convinced that we'll fuck this up. Why? Because this owner gave us a great looking uni in 98? That replaced another great uni? That replaced the original great looking uni?. It must be great to just have a we suck attitude all day long
Why? It's dumb looking. It's not like anyone isn't sure if we're a football, basketball, ice hockey, or baseball team. We don't need a dumb football in the logo to let us know that we're rooting for a football team. What kind of repercussions would a jet fighter or bomber create?
I don't disagree, trouble is players barely wear sleeves nowadays because they don't want to be grabbed and held up. Tough to put anything on the sleeves unless there is a movement towards more sleeved jerseys in the future.
I really love the gold idea & hope the team considers it. That said i wouldnt go w the titans gold..too similar to Packers w the green. Id go w something more metallic perhaps even a Bronze.
