Ridiculous. 1. You dont have to have seats with PSls if you cant afford them or dont want to pay. 2. Every new stadium gets PSLs, we all knew they were coming. And the most ridiculous is trying to make a case that telling the fans a new uniform is coming and leave the fans to decide if they want one today or wait is somehow similar to PSLs. Seriously? LOL How about instead of whining about something no one has a right to moan about with the new uniform you tell us in your mind what would have been better? To not tell anyone and get shit for not telling people? Love the lunacy involved in just flat out blaming the team without thought
Who's whining? may want to look up the definition...... I said from a business standpoint it's stupid to make a nothing "announcement" a whole season in advance, especially after signing a potential franchise QB. Yes the poor fans get "screwed" by purchasing a jersey that may not be the "coolest" next year..... it's a frikin shirt that'll prob get beer and hot sauce stains on it.
..and to think fans were giving the team crap for literally doing the exact opposite & keeping fans in the dark during Taste of The jets. Its impossible to please everyone..and while i sympathize w the PSL saga..if its clouding an entire persons perception of the team including something as trivial as a uniform change announcement its time to move on..either drop the PSL grudge or dont root for the Jets anymore.
WTF.... I used that as a reference of what really ripping people off is (and their "concern")...... not potentially changing the design of a shirt someone may buy. $100 or $10000?
Problem is there is nothing stupid about giving the fans a heads up and leaving the decision up to each individual. One more time, now the fans know there will be a new uniform next year. Its whining to complain about giving a choice. Your idea to just STFU and wait for the shit to hit the fan when after spending good money on a jersey its obsolete a year later is kind of the definition. And really stinky
To answer your question, I have no idea. I don't recall there being any talk of rebranding when the helmet logo changed in the 70s or 80s then changed back with Parcells in the late 90s.
While I like this better than our current helmets, still would not be my choice, particularly with the gray facemask. That should be white. I still want to go back to the logo the Jets used in the late '70s and '80s with the sleek jet on it.
You are speaking from your financial status. Some people simply can’t afford to shed jerseys like snake skin. Personally, I bought the 350$ Darnold vapor elite and will be getting a Darnold limited new iteration.
Exactly - the Jets logo is as generic as it gets. Hopefully they will create a logo that actually pertains to our team. You can replace Jets with any other football team, change the colors and it looks fine.
Not awful. Logo is way too big for the helmet though. So much so that the facemask and straps obscure it.
We have to make sure we don't end up with laughingstock unis. Look at teams like Tampa, Cleveland etc. Look at the big mistakes Miami and Minnesota did and have since went back. Too new and out there is never a good thing. Plus we have a very old school blue collar fan base. I think whatever the new uni will be will just basically be an updated version of the 80's uniforms. They have an opportunity to make it look really nice without resorting to any wackiness. The Jets just cannot give Nike carte blanche because Nike tends to experiment and ruin things. It would be good if the Jets had some tactical "leaks" throughout the entire process and gauge fan reaction. This is something the Browns never did and it was an abomination
I wouldn't bet on a logo change. It'll be either what we have now or the 80's logo. Which is very nice and popular with the fan base If they decide to go in a new direction I'd wager we'd be getting a New York Jets version of the Michigan State Spartans uniforms
