Dumb Question but is Sam "at the table" with the agent in the meetings at this point or is he sitting back somewhere letting this whole thing play out? I would guess the latter which leads me to my follow up question. Is Sam out in CA waiting for a call to fly out to Florham Park to sign or is he in the NY/NJ area just getting acclimated to his future surroundings waiting for a call to Uber on over to one Jets drive?
He is most likely not at the table, the agents probably wouldn't like that. According to Mehta, he (Darnold) is in the Wyndham across from Florham Park.
Sams wherever he will be staying once camp breaks. Hes right there so he can show up to sign in a moments notice
It doesnt really seem like anything is happening at this point. I think wed have alot more leaks & proverbial sparks flying if there was. Dont think its a case of the negotations being kept w a firm lid either cause we are getting leaks:leaks that indicate both sides being dug in To be fair this isnt negotiating #s back & fourth. This involves legal depts adding language/removing .And just like w the CBA when you get lawyers involved at the bargaining table it can get very dicey & further divided.This may take Darnold pulling an Arod & sitting down w St Christopher
it's been confirmed quite a few times and yes it's likely to be more back loaded but still not guaranteed as the jets have a ton of money this year in cap room still and next year too so it makes more sense for us currently to front load a deal then to backload it
Right - and half the guys here pick out the one they like best, buy into it 100% and excoriate whoever it indicts - as if they actually knew what was going on.
Who knows? There will probably be 20 merges minimum. Where would be as Jets fans without drama, I ask you. Anyway, this is the point I was getting to regarding this drama on both sides.
You say that but some of them really struggle to stay away from previous thug mates and joints/blunts/ganga or whatever is the new word for them this week, you may as well add in the thick ones who can't order a taxi when pissed up.
