Agree with both. Shepherd was great and Big Cat was great too. If no injuries we should have a great Defense this year. McCown and Bridgewater was underwhelming. It's just the beginning of season so I am not overly concerned. But if offense finds a way to be middle of the pack we are making the playoffs.
Also shame to me and GQMartin. Pryor came over to us but we didn't recognize him. We are lousy Jet fans. Lol.
Am loving everything I’m hearing about Herndon. Assuming any suspension for his DWI will come next year?
Okay. Below was your polite warning. Apparently it didn't find you well. Rest 1 day and let's talk again. Leave the fucking goat jokes to BS forum. This isn't Brook's own playground for God's sake. Don't confuse Jets main board with BS forum. http://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/jets-open-practice-for-psl-holders.90799/page-2#post-3708734
You get a pass. Teammates and coaches didn't recognize Sammy Watkins on wed when he reported minus his Dreads.
If anybody can give an update on how the following players are performing, it's greatly appreciated: TE- Walford... any chance he makes the team with draft picks Leggett and Herndon? Tomlinson seems to be the default blocking TE. OT- Garcia... has he put weight back on that he lost from his time with illness at NE? I'm hoping he can be RT backup. UDFA OL- Golson, Shepley and James. In that order is my thinking who makes it on practice squad. CB- J. Clark- Can he make it in the NFL at CB or need to move to Safety due to size/speed. He was solid at Michigan before season ending ACL. S- Middleton- My favorite underdog on the roster for past 2 years. Always seems to make plays in practice and preseason games and his little time as a rookie with an INT. Can he claim a backup spot? I really think if he goes to PS, someone will claim him. Many thanks in advance.
Pretty sure Middleton had a pick in the red zone off McCown. Can’t answer on the others but can say that Shepherd, Pennell and Williams dominated the OL on a 12 min defensive drill which was held right in front of us. Most of my attention was on Teddy. In my opinion the guy is still limping when he is walking and if you look at the One Jets Drive video, he’s wearing a brace even when not working out. I’m wondering if he will be able to take contact. After seeing him in person I am strongly reconsidering my position on him (starting over McCown). Think if there’s an offer there (and assuming Sam comes to camp soon) you take it. Then, I imagine, you need 1 more QB and maybe get Petty back if he gets cut or look to sign another camp cut. But since all cuts are late you probably need a QB who knows the playbook/system.
My #1 player I am looking forward to seeing play is a surprise: Darron Lee. He is the key to the Jets Defense being above average or below. All the play calls will go through him this year. He had a weak rookie year but I felt he was continuing to improve last year. It would be huge for the franchise if he takes that next step this year. And it will hold the defense back if he doesn't.
Re walford, my bet would be the 3 tes will be Herndon leggett and Tomlinson. Legget started with the 1s and they really like him, Herndon sounds like he is making plays and cost a draft pick so he’s on scholarship and Tomlinson is a known.
Sterling is a local kid. Still only 26. Has good size. Went to Monmouth like Chris Hogan and Miles Austin. Seems to have good quickness and agility for a TE but will likely be the odd man out here
I'm holding off on judging Bridgewater for 2 reasons...1) he is playing exclusively with the 2nd unit & 2) our 2nd unit OL is putrid. I'd like to see what Teddy could do with the 1st unit before writing him off.
