That's Neymar. He's a bitch and most soccer fans hate him exactly for that kind of behavior. A nice antidote to that: https://www.thepoke.co.uk/2018/07/0...t-dressing-room-devastating-world-cup-defeat/
Just so everyone knows I will ban soccer haters for a year. Lol. What a game for England. I was rooting for them against Colombia. I am glad to see them thru. Good luck against the cheating Russians as I expect Russia to find a way to advance.
It's been half my life since England last won a penalty shoot out. It feels bloody awesome. This young squad are going places, regardless of how far we go this time. Under 21 champions, U20 Toulon champions and U17 champions to add to the squad. So chuffing chuffed!
Not far fetched. Sweden is the dark horse. In European qualifiers they knocked out Netherlands in the group and advanced to play offs. In play offs they eliminated Italy and knocked them out. In the World Cup group they lost against Germany but still won the group and knocked Germany out. We wre talking about a Swedish Cinderalla story. If they win against England they will be the only Nation to knock Netherlands, Italy, Germany and England back to back. All of those countries are previous World Cup winners and European giants.
Correct. My bad. They won the European Championship back in 1988. Van Basten’s legendary goal against USSR’s Dasaev.
I expect England to find a way past Sweden, but it won't be easy. However, I expect Croatia to be too strong in the semi-final. Before the tournament, a semi-final place would've seemed wildly optimistic, so I'd be happy!
France looked good today. Brazil will be a tough match though. England has the easiest road to the Final probably ever. Croatia and especially Russia are garbo teams. My prediction is England over Brazil in the Final. This looks like England's year.
Well, I will be arriving in England (Bristol) in the early afternoon of July 15, so if you are correct the scene should be unbelievably crazy (the final starts at 4:00 PM England time).
I just read there's a drinking game in Belgium re: vs. Brazil that you have to down a beer in one glug every time Neymar pulls a Susan Hayward 'I WANT TO LIVE!'
I'm totally down with the UK taking this. Cool people, cool country, WWII allies. If it does come down to England vs. France, I hope France does what they do best: wave a white flag. Lol, I couldn't resist. Just a question for die-hard soccer fans (of which I am not, it kind of sucks monkey balls), what's with all of the trampling deaths and off the charts violence? You get nonsense like that in any game, but some people are nuts. It's a game, yo. Personally watching some 80 year olds play shuffleboard is more interesting, but that's just me. Anyway, God Save the Queen, I mean it, man. EDIT & P.S.: I remember years ago someone posted a soccer thread about a ref in Mexico - I think it was Mexico - maybe somewhere else in Central America - who had his head sawed off because the crowd didn't like his decisions. I'm not making this up. I can probably find it. EDIT & P.P.S.: This is definitely not it, but what the frig. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ed-Angry-fans-head-stake-stabbing-player.html The thread I'm talking about is from well over ten years ago. I'm sure the article is still out there somewhere.
the NFL announced today that there will be 7 first-year officials on the field this fall. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...1&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=referral That means that by mid-October we might not think Mexico's plan is too bad of an idea after all.
All European from now on. France versus Belgium in one semi, Russia/Croatia winner versus Sweden/England winner in the other. Another disappointing WC for Brazil.
