    This clusterfuck all falls on Alderson and his sketchy evaluation metrics for managers and his absolute failure at developing the farm system. His dependence on homers to carry the team will be its downfall. As long as Alderson keeps the payroll below a certain number, the Wilpons are happy and that's all that matters.

    Met fans, wake up and stop supporting this steaming pile of shit called the New York Metropolitans. Wilpons understand money, so teach them a hard lesson by depriving them of it.

    Gonzalez gone, which is no surprise. Smith called up, but given that he’s doing poorly in the hitting-happy PCL, there’s no reason to think that he isn’t a(nother) bust.

    Agree completely. How do you let Gonzalez go, but keep Reyes? Since when do they care about optics so much? Reyes is like a grandpa out there. Alderson needs to go.

    This is going to be a long rebuild. They need to clean house ASAP, starting with Sandy. Then anyone with any value needs to be sent off for whatever young talent that can be brought back. As a fan of Degrom, I hope he is the first to go. Let him get something out of this fantastic season he is having and will bring the most return back.

    I agree that Sandy should go, but how attractive is the Met GM job? Will they be able to attract blue-chip people to apply for the job? I wonder because there are downsides:

    1. The major-league roster isn't impressive;

    2. The minor-league talent cupboard is bare;

    3. The scouting and player-development departments need a complete overhaul because their drafts and player development have been poor;

    4. Ownership is noted for being very cheap; and

    5. Ownership is known to meddle (e.g., see this week's stories that it's ownership that's keeping Jose Reyes on the roster).

    Trading Degrom is foolish unless you get 4 major league ready prospects - and they pan out. Otherwise you stay the course with Degrom and Syndegard and build a team around them.

    Talk radio seems to want to trade Degrom and I just don’t want that. I'm not understanding the hard on about that. You can go and buy offense pitching is a different story.

    I assume the belief is that getting several can't-miss prospects for him is the quickest way to rebuild and that DeGrom will no longer be a front-line starter by the time the Mets get good again. The problem is how many teams have that many blue-chip prospects to part with and how many would actually trade those can't-miss prospects? Not many (if any). Just to stir up shit, the papers and talk radio are pushing a DeGrom to the Yankees deal because the Yankee system is loaded and they really need a stud starter. I can't imagine the Mets ever pulling the trigger on that.

    Oh please. I saw that coming a mile away. With this team you can always assume the worst.

    I can't believe they somehow started 11-1. What in the hell?

    Godley is the kind of guy Cespedes tags for a 3-run HR. These guys can't touch him tho with that curveball. Fucked up.
