Chris Burkett. He was a Jet for longer than I remembered. I had him down as one of the many wide receivers we signed who fizzled and was gone inside a year or two, but he played four full seasons and part of a fifth. Team MVP in 1991 and led the team with 57 receptions in 1992. Ten touchdowns as a Jet.
I remember when all the hype was about Peter Warrick coming out of FSU...yet his teammate in college, Laveranues Coles, went on to have the better career.
I think it was more like Bowden hung him out to dry and protected Warwick because Warwick was the better player in that offense they were running.
Nothing annoying about the wife to me. Plug she didn't play for the Jets and isn't nearly as annoying as let's say a certain skinny model bitch married to some assclown on the Pats.
Johnny Mitchell. For a brief period it looked like he was going to become a really dangerous pass-catching tight end. Jets career: Four seasons (1992-95), 158 receptions, 2,086 yards, 13.2 avg. per catch, 16TDs.
Yeah, what coulda been. He was an incredible physical specimen but dumb as a stick and then just kind of bottomed out under Kottie. Fat Parcells "took him back" on the condition that he learned the playbook. He couldn't. So he wasn't officially re-signed (as I recall) and was "cut."
