Cimini: Biggest takeaway from the Jets' fourth practice (second open to the media): Rookie QB Sam Darnold got eight reps with the first team (he had none in the first open practice) and showed progress. Throwing mostly high-percentage passes, he completed eight of 10, with a sack and two illegal-procedure penalties. A would-be interception was dropped, so he caught a break, but he showed better overall command than last week. Rep breakdown: Darnold 20 (eight with first team), Josh McCown 14 (all with the first) and Teddy Bridgewater 14 (all with backups).
@K'OB as well. Click on the link and try and follow Hughes, hes pretty decent. No one on one drills are shown unfortunately ... its great to see Q out there tho
Can’t really tell but video 2 looks like it could be Leggett (86?) and video 3 could be Herndon (89?). I so want those two guys to be studs.
He's back to #5 with Hack gone. Damn, I'm excited as all hell to have Darnold, but if Teddy looks good.... why not start him from the jump to up his trade value?
Good to see him out there. Hopefully precautionary as they ease him back in. Hansen may just be a good pick up as he adjusts to the NFL...looks fluid and sure handed
My eyes maybe off as well Video 3 - I saw #87 which is Clive Walford (could be wrong); video 2 is Leggett you are correct.
Yeah I couldn’t make out whether it was a 7 or a 9. Really hope his knee is healthy, he could be our best TE since Keller.
http://www.espn.com/espn/now?nowId=21-0795713372757692778-4 Jets practice takeaways: As usual, QB Josh McCown worked exclusively with the first team. Sharp day for McCown (11-for-12). Teddy Bridgewater worked with the backups and Sam Darnold got a little of both ... Standouts were OLB Brandon Copeland, WR Jermaine Kearse and TE Neal Sterling. Copeland got first-team reps ... S Jamal Adams, who had no interceptions as a rookie, picked off Darnold ... CB Mo Claiborne spotted with a cast on his left wrist ... WR Terrelle Pryor (ankle) spotted in a walking boot ... WR Robby Anderson (undisclosed) didn't practice ... C Spencer Long (quad surgery) returned to team drills. Also worth noting that Jenkins may not be ready by training camp. I think Martin is a comparable player to Jenkins, but hopefully Copeland also continues to step up to ensure some much needed depth at OLB. Same goes for Sterling. We need a TE to step up. I'm not confident in Leggett at all, and Herndon off to a drunken start. McCown continues to look good, and will earn the starting role again imo. Good to see Darnold getting 1st team experience.
Sounds like Teddy is building his trade value nicely today. Hopefully he can stay upright once preseason starts.
