    Probably the biggest reason I became a Jet fan..

    Historic QB for the Jets and AFL...our LAST SB QB sigh..hope Sam is next!

    Wild private life, and had alcohol problems plus an embarrassing TV moment but more importantly a great human being ..trying to get FDA Approval of Oxygen machine for brain injuries

    Great write up in Post online today

    Have you young guys googled him yet ???? hahah

    Same here. Was a bit of a campus hippie in the sixties and Joe came along with his long hair when all other QB's had crew cuts like Unitas and Morrall. If I had known how my own hair would turn out, I might have been a Y.A. Tittle fan.

    Absolutely love Broadway Joe.
    Definitely why my brother and I became Jets fans.

    I don’t know if he made the deal with the devil or not, but I have felt for a real long time that we wouldn’t win another until he is gone. Hope I am wrong and Joe is there is to see his Jets win the big one again.

    How does anyone not know what Joe Namath's birthday is in the first place? The old man's birthday is on 5/31, and that's the only reason I ever let him cop a feel.

    Namath probably would have spent a lot of money on fines and games off suspended in Roger Goodell's NFL. Shit, I got into football in the 80's and Namath was the biggest reason I became a Jets fan.

    Joe Namath is a Jets ICON and I'm glad he's still with us and in good of health as one can expect to be in at his age after taking all the hits he took playing the game he so passionately loved. Happy Birthday and cheers to many more good years for the gunslingin', guarantee makin', #1 finger waggin', and mink coat wearin' Joe Willie Namath. May we all witness a Jets championship again with Namath there to celebrate with us.
