They're going to actually lose 2 out of 3 at home to this piece of crap team, and have scored a grand total of 4 runs in those games. Amazing.
The Mets position players have a slugging percentage in this game of .615 through 6 1/3 innings. Couple it with an excellent start by Matz and it's pretty amazing.
Nimmo with a walk, a single, two doubles, and a triple in five at bats. That's 8 straight plate appearances getting on base.
Well maybe Matz can settle into the 3rd starter role...and stay healthy. Good start for him. I thought Frazier was close but Gary said he and Ces will be a while yet. But Plawecki may be back soon. They need Bruce to get going.
Conforto too - he's got a .620 OPS over his last 30 games, and that's not a slump any more, that's being bad. And he's got a .533 OPS for the season against lefties. Bruce has been just as bad - his OPS is .560 against lefties, and overall it's .628 in his last 35 games. Last year Bruce's was .718 and Conforto's was .729 - hardly great, but 150 - 200 points in OPS can make a big difference.
Yep. If they both could get going it would be a big thing for them and give them a good fighting chance. If Rosario could improve a little that would help. The biggest disappointment for me is the few games where the Bullpen didn't hold up their end. But they're alive still.
